Hair loss with the band?

I read something about the possibility of hair loss with the band. I think it said if you have your protein you will be fine. Has anyone here experienced hair loss due to the band or do you have any info on this subject, thanks in advance. Rose

I also lost a massive amount of hair. However i did not start to lose any till i was 7 months out from my surgery. I continued to lose hair for 6 months (thank god i had a ton of hair to begin with). Finally after all this time i can see the new regrowth. I think its just a matter of saying hey its gonna happen and just wait out the process knowing it will eventually taper off.

That's right. There really isn't too much you can do about it (other than the shampoo thing I mentioned). It's just a process you gotta go through.

I experienced some hair loss about 39 pounds down and 3 months after surgery. I have a ton of hair, but it was starting to worry me. I go for a fill next week and will be seeing a nutritionist then too. She told me rapid weight loss will cause some people to lose hair. I think I can start seeing new growth near my hairline now too.

As for the anethesia... I had a endoscopic ultrasound a Aug. 31 and had lap-band surgery Sep. 13. So, I had anesthesia twice within two weeks. I think that is a lot of stress on the body too.

I know I should eat and chose my foods more wisely also. I eat about 1/3 less than what I used to! I have to think quality, not quantity.

I'm glad I read this thread. I'm almost fitting into the category of four months / 40 lbs. Thankfully, I have long thick hair.

I'd also like to know how much Biotin is recommended. Anyone?

Thanks for all the advice!
