Oregon/Washington Doctors with a reasonable price?

Recommended Posts

I have currently located one doctor in Coos Bay, Dr. Tersigni (Bay Bariatrics) who is reasonable priced.

Does anyone know of any other doctors in Oregon or Washington that only charges $10,000 to $12,000 for the Lap Band? I am not interested in going to Mexico!!!

I live in Newberg which is about 20 minutes from Portland. I am unfortunantly going to be a self pay. I don't mind going to Coos Bay, but If there are any doctors that would preform the surgery for that cost and is closer to me that would be outstanding.

Has anyone negotiated the price with the doctor? If, so, how did you do it who is the best person to talk to..

Kathy

Jack would be better able to tell you who the band doctors in Portland are. I suggest sending him a PM. I was banded by Dr. Tersigni and highly recommend him and his staff, the only other doctor I know of that is closely priced is Dr. Miranda in Klamath Falls but that is a bit far away for you I imagine.

I just wanted to say Hi! I can't be of much help as I am being banded on Feb. 13th by Emma Patterson and have insurance, but I spend a lot of time in Newberg because I am the "Welcome Wagon" lady!!!! I have a few clients there like Steve Drew who own's Steve's Auto, and Sally Dallas who own's The Newberg Gallery and a few others.

I love Newberg!!

I'm in Portland and was just banded by Dr. Tersigni in November. I really liked him and his staff and so far I think he did a great job. Everything went very very well for me and I have had no problems. I have not had my first fill yet because I have had restriction without one. That being said, I don't enjoy the thought of having to take an entire day out everytime I need a fill. He gives 3 fills with the price and after that, I will probably start going to Dr. Kelly here for my fills so that I won't have to drive so far.

Driving down for surgery wasn't bad. We rented a hotel and spent two nights (the night before and the night after). I thought the drive home would be horrible but it wasn't.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

Dr. Tersigni has submitted all the paperwork to be a center of excellence. I just found out at support group that his office found

out that he has the lowest rate of complications in the state of OR.

I am extremely happy with him and his office staff. Feel free to send me a private message if you have any questions about

him.

I too went to Dr Tersigni - after he was recommended by a family friend. Everything everyone else has said is dead on - he and his staff are excellent, as is the Day Surgery area as well. They are very sensitive to out of town patients and will schedule all appointments for pre-op on one day.

I was at the last support group and Robin(Dr Tersignis' coordinator)let our group know that they just received the award of Center of Excellence. I am very happy with Dr. Tersigni and his awesome crew.

I have already lost 49 lbs and my surgery was 5/30/2008,today is 7/13/2008.:smile2:

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
