Terri~ I think your sister is jealous of you! I agreee w/ Tracy...you are cute and she is not! LOL. I loved the earrings too. Your mom looks great and she is blessed to have great kids taking care of her in her "golden" years! I love you too and will miss you bunches!

TracyK~ Good luck w/ the move! It is a pain in the ass, but I like the idea of walking in w/ a box and putting the crapola away! Just think, you can relax w/ Macy all summer and have all the "hard" stuff behind you!

Speaking of "hard stuff", Michelle...woohoo! I would have loved to had a few w/ you last night. We opted for iced tea at dinner!

We had the pork cordon blue...ooooo my! I had salad and the meat...muy bien!

Well, I guess we are gonna start packing today. Purple Power for Tracy...then send some my way. We are already bickering!

Janie~have fun w/ you dad! Hope you got enough sleep for the party!!!

Judy...where are you????

The Pool is coming.

They called a little while ago and said that they would be here first thing in the morning. I said "on a Sunday?". Yup, that's right. On a Sunday.

You know this means you won't be seeing as much of me. Got to get my swim time in. I'll be looking like a bass by the time summer is over.

I'll post pics as soon as we get it all done.

Everyone have a great weekend.

Pamela, I'll miss you.

Judy and Tracy, come home now. We need you.

Well I'm back----had a NFHSR meeting this morning, then had to haul 8 tons of hay from the farm to the park. Took 2 loads to do it, at least they had 2 trailers and 6 volunteer "buckers". I latched on to the trailer and drove, my only "work".

I noticed a yard sale down from the park so while they were rounding up help, I walked down there. Then had to drive back when I finished to pick up all the junk I bought!!! I outfitted Connor for the next year....much of it still tagged. To be honest, it made me wonder, this is all stuff from Penney's and most of it was all brand new. She said they bought it for their grandson, then the couple divorced and they never saw him. But I also bought me 3 pairs of Arizona Jeans, and 3 pairs of Arizona Capri's----juniors size 11!!!! They all fit, and all but 2 pair still were tagged. I also got a Queen Size Bed in a Bag thing---to use on our air bed----it still had the zip tie thing around the zipper in the bag holding it all, it had never been opened....also from JC Penney. 3 pairs of Avia running shoes size 12.5 for Rick (his brand his size---weird) all new, never been so much as walked in the soles didn't look like----all with tags from --yep JCP! The only thing I bought that she said was used was a phone set. I have a cordless set that has one base unit and 3 additional handsets with chargers you just plug into a wall socket. I bought another just like it, so when the shop goes up, we can have a phone and they all can interchange for charging. Anyway, I bought 3 baby blankets---pastel plaids all still new in the hanging bags.....all kinds of stuff for the baby really, white socks, a bag of cloth diapers, a picture frame...all new. The woman was as nice as could be, I wanted to ask her if she worked at JCP, and another woman did!! She said no her former DIL did.....I hope I didn't buy all kinds of things she stole! Anyway, for all that I just listed, and more (some tshirts, sunglasses, and a ring) she sold it all to me for $25.00!!! So when I finished dropping off the hay- I went and picked it up and paid her the rest--I gave her $10 to hold it--because at the time I only owed her 20--I found more when I went back. I decided my time hauling hay was well worth it---and I had been complaining!!!

I don't like pulling the trailer loaded through Saturday traffic....but I managed!

We are going to a movie or I am gonna cry sometime this weekend!!! Actually it doesn't have to be the weekend, Rick is off for the next week.

Well I hauled all this stuff home, guess I will call the kids and tell them to come pick it up!

TracyK--thinking of you Hon, hope your move is going ok!

Terry---I WOULD help, I WOULD be a nice Violet....but I live so far away.....darn! LOL So many times when you are moving like they are, someone who does not know where to put things, is more of a hinderence than a help, besides y'all would just start laughing and not get anything done!!

Wow speaking of kids, here is DS & family---catch y'all later!

What happened Terry??

I never buy from anyone who doesn't have at least 200 feedback and 97% or better. If the negative is recent I also check out why they got negative.

Terri~ I love imitation crab meat! It is great cause I can eat it, even though I am alergic to shell fish. I also love Cod too, it is such a low fat fish. The imitation crab meat (yes, that is what it is really called) is great w/ macaroni in a chilled salad. It is a great source of protien, is pretty band friendly (slides through easily) and is low cal! Sounds good!

Oh, Laura, I just got lured by the prospect of cheap turquoise beads. The seller had a necklace with what looked like sleeping Beauty turquoise (the best quality) and some earrings that I didn't particularly like, but thought I'd take them apart and re-use the components. Turns out that the earrings were not sterling although they were on a card marked "sterling silver". The description was very brief saying they were selling of MIL's collection of Arizona turquoise jewelry (normally sterling). Turns out the earrings were junk and so I over-paid for the lot. I asked for a $10 refund which was MORE than fair but the seller wouldn't budge saying I should have asked if it was sterling. What an ass. S'ok...it's only $10....but it's the principle of the thing. I just HATE dishonest sellers. The turquoise is nice, though. And he got a neutral from me...lowering his feedback score to 80% ...LOL.

I know the ins-and-outs of Ebay...have over 500 transactions and I've been pretty lucky so far. I think this makes the 3rd hit I've taken...not too bad.

There are so many types of Turquoise, and qualities of those types it would be hard to buy it online I would think. Abbey uses turquoise in some art projects she does. We buy Kingman turquoise from the same guy all the time, to avoid those issues. She likes it, because it is kind of a craggy looking stone, with lots of veins in it.

Rick thinks I bought hot merchandise! phhheeeeewwww dunno what he thinks I should do about it....neighbor come over while we were talking about it!

Update: We went and bought bigger matching (how cute huh) suitcases and are gonna check 'em! Cross your fingers for us that they arrive! I cut the shit out of my finger today getting out of the shower. I sliced the right thumb pretty deep and cried it hurt so bad.

Terry, You have two things going for you that your sister doesn't. Beauty on the outside and beauty on the inside. She must be sad inside and jealous. She probably has some pent up feelings about it also. Hang in there, you are so better than to lower yourself to her level.

Loved the picture. Enjoy the time you have with your Mom.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
