TracyK.... I was doing the same thing a couple of weeks ago and I just had to put my food down and close my mouth. I was eating just to be eating. Not hungry at all. Those habits are hard to break for sure, but look how far you have come. You didn't do that by constantly breaking the rules. You can do this!! You'll definitely be at goal for our get together! Let's both kick butt, k?:cursing:

Thanks Judy...I know you are right. I am just having some fear issues. I have done really well today and I am going to take this thing one day at a time. "Hi I'm Tracy and I am a food-o-holic". Especially when I am nervous. I know what I need to do but OMG it is so scarey. I don't know who a "normal sized" Tracy is. I have never met her. Does any of this make sense?:confused2:

Fingers and toes crossed for you Jenn!!!

Oh, forgot to tell ya'll...I took macy to the dr today to see if maybe she has an ear or throat infection. Luckily, she doesn't. The dr said she is more than likely still recovering from her flu and to just keep an eye one her.

When is her NY trip? I was wondering about her earlier.

Suzanne---thank you so much for my Valentine--it is my first one this year!!! You are too sweet!! It was so unique! Just having a hard time figuring how to stand it up for display!!! LOL

Tomorrow if I have Kinsey, we are going to make some Valentines...I bought fun stuff for her to create with!!!

If I were just a smart Granny, I would send it home for her to do---but I'd rather get elbow deep in with her and make a mess!!

TTYL~~

Evening, Violets..

Laura was supposed to leave this morning for her trip to New York.

Just got back from Walmart. I tried on swimsuits, but didn't find any I couldn't live without. I have my semi-new one that is fine for now. If I hit my first goal before the Bandiversary bash, then I'll spring for a new suit. Other than that the one I have should be fine. I did get a couple of summer skirts for my cruise is size L (12/14)!! Got some zip up slacks with a belt in size 16. First time I have worn a belt in about 40 years I think!!

Ethan had a nice, long nap today so Gramma got some housework done, plus keeping up on the posts in here.

Tomorrow our PMS group meets for a chili lunch and then I have Bells at 4 and New Day Singers at 6-9. Don't know if any of those will be cancelled if we get all the snow they are predicting. I have to make some Cookies for a funeral on Wednesday. DD Kris will be here tomorrow night and I'm going to ask her to make them while I'm at rehearsal. No sense tempting me during Lent!

I've done (4) 10 minute sessions on the elliptical trainer today so far. I'm going to head upstairs when I finish this post and do my stationary bike and glider. Then I'll hit the hot tub tonight for some toning and relaxing. I'm just finishing up my second liter of Crystal Light. I'll put another in the freezer for later on tonight.

I'll check back on ya later!!

Suzanne -- Thank you so much for the Valentine!!

Jenn-- I am so happy for you, I can't wait till it is Official!

Well it is time for me to get a new family doctor. I called this morning due to I lost my voice on Saturday and hasn't come back yet. His first appt available is in April -- that is not going to work!

So I went to doc in a box - I tested negative for strep - but positive for FLU - I don't feel like I have the flu -- go figure.

My Mom has that issue with her Dr. She can call for something and be told his next appointment is 6-8 weeks out. I told her I would be a smart a$$ and make an appointment for every week, then I would call and cancel if they were not needed, the sign says you are charged if you do not give 24 hour notice of a cancel---so call 26 hours before---but have a standing appointment each week! But I despise my Mom's Dr. And she knows it. He is actually both Mom and Dad's---but I cannot stand that man, I think he is a quack, out to only make money off of seniors. He tells them whatever they want to hear, and then changes the story when I go with them (or my inlaws---they go to Quackman too) and then winks at me like they misunderstood. Aaarrgghh!

My Dr. is excellent about working me in usually that day, but no later than the next usually. For years I didn't have to worry about it because my DD was the nurse, she always got me in....now I actually have to speak with a receptionist!! But so far so good.

I hope you don't get to feeling any worse. Did they do the nasal swab or what? Yuck I hate those things!

Good Luck finding a good one you can work well with. Ask around for recommendations----word of mouth is usually a great tool. If you know any of the nurses in the area they are a great wealth of info that way too!

Time to work on dinner....

They did a nose swab -- the first for me. They gave me an antibodic for my sinus infection, and Tamiflu for the flu.

I don't know if I should take the tamiflu or not -- I really don't have any symptons of flu.:smile2:

If they caught it early, the earlier you take the tamiflu the better it works. I don't know what the incidence of false positives on the flu swab are.....you might could find out on line! I know it is amazing to me, but there are things on this computer besides LBT and ebay! Shocking!

Hope you feel better!

I think mine is in the sinus' only----head is throbbing, nose alternates from being stuffy to being so clear it burns to breath in...sucks being sick!

OMG

so went to group, no call ... then came home and took dd to the ER with her $50 co pay. man that ticks me off and I'm bringing that to family court with me on Valentine's day... anyway, she got nailed in the bridge of her nose with a basketball and is in so much pain i wanted to make sure she was ok... so all that to find out she has a bruise and will possibly have black eyes in the morning.

I am so anxious about having this job confirmed... making me crazy.... can i just scream... so I just ate 2 tbs p-butter and sf ice cream... 400cals but at least had 21g Protein. So I had 80g protein today and 900 cals.

I'm going to lie down with dd, and hope to fall asleep, i'm still not caught up

Jenn-your poor dd. That had to hurt!! Hope she isn't bruised too bad. You will hear something about the job today and it will be exactly what you want to hear, I just know it!

Sick violets-feel better soon!! (((hugs)))

good morning everyone! Wow did I sleep good last night or what! (nothing really unusual, just thought I would throw that in)

Today is my thursday work wise...one more day after today and I get my long weekend! I have an appt to get my hair highlighted tomorrow. I am going to get copper & blond mixed. Had it like that years ago and it ws really pretty. I just have not found anyone around here I trust enough to do it until ow. Hope she proves me right. As long as I do not look like a calico cat when I walk out it will be fine:wink2:

Well, one more pound to lose to get back down to 173. I still haven't gotten TOM yet. Losing this weight sure can screw with that! No comments are necessary from the peanut gallery that do not have TOM anymore:tt2::wink2::tt2:

(yes I am jealous)

Terri-how is your mom? I am still keeping you & her in my prayers.

Haydee-how did the garage sale go?

Judy-I wish you taught kindergarten here where I live. I would have loved for you to be macys' teacher! She starts kindergarten this year! Hard to believe.

Kat-how is rick? Is Kinsey feeling better? Does she still have her cold?

Tracy-you are going to be 18something before you know it!!:scared2:

I better get up and get moving. Frank is not here this morning to bring macy to daycare so its all on me. Take care everyone!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
