Whoo Hoo IndioGirl, You look fabulous dahling... :hurray: Congratulations on losing all of that weight plus 10 lbs below your goal weight, that is soooo neat... I sure hope that one of these days I will be at my goal weight...

I'm glad you are planning on sticking around here and being our food cop for a lifetime... :blushing: You are such an inspiration to all of us...

Phyl.... You are looking great!! Congratulations on your fantastic weight loss...

I haven't been around for a few months and so much has been happening here... It's so good to see how well everyone is doing...

I need a fill so bad and I have finally found a Dr out here in northern California where I am that will give me fills at a reasonable cost... I have been in a funk for awhile because I've needed a fill and couldn't find a Dr that would do my fills without charging me an arm and a leg per fill... These Doc's out here sure do charge alot if you are not their patient... Anyway, I go in on the 7th of July and I'm excited... Hopefully I can start losing weight again...

Have a great weekend everyone and it's great to see everyone doing so well...

Welcome back!!

So good to hear from you again!

I sure hope the fill will help you on your way again. I had to go 6 months between fills when we were in Southern CA last winter for the same reason. Couldn't find anyone who would do it for a reasonable fee. But it's okay. I still averaged about 5 lb a month. And it's not going all that much faster now, but I can tell quite a difference in my restriction. Last month I only lost 1/2 lb, but this month I'm already down about 6 lb.

Well considering that I am in the San Francisco are where everything including gasoline is higher than anywhere else in the country, I consider $250 -$350 per fill reasonable anything above $350 is outrageous...

Thanks Phyl for the nice warm welcome back... It's been 5 months since I've had a fill, so that's why I'm so thrilled that I finally found a Dr out here, cause I didn't want to wait until I could get back to Colorado for one... That is great that you are taking it off slow and easy... That is the best way... I'm at a complete standstill right now, so I need a good fill to get me a kick start towards losing again...

Hi today I went for my second fill today June 26. I am not sure but ever since I left the Dr. office I have been throwing up. I just got done taking my medications and they came back up. I dont know if I should take sips of Water or what. Should I call my dr tomarrow. I will be leaving out of state on Tuesday July 1, 2008. I am even throwing up water. Should I just take teaspoons of water.

Let things rest for a couple of hours. Don't drink anything if you are throwing up Water. I have done that when I got food stuck and couldn't stop throwing up for a couple hours straight. Things need to rest for a couple of hours. Then try a sip of warm water.

Definitely call your doctor tomorrow. Let us know what he/she says and how you are doing tomorrow!

Well I am no expert yet but yes, I think your fill is too tight from the sounds of it. I would go back and see him. Indio, you look great. You are a real inspiriation to this thread and to this site for that matter. congratulations on all of your hard work. Now to keep it off is the hard part but you will do good. Hey Phyl, I finally found a WII today at Walmart. There were five over there tonight. Can you believe it. IT was supposed to be for my grandson but I don't know now. Phyl I can't believe you would still loose five a month with no fill. I am nine days out now and still on full liquids. My weight has slowed down a little now. Saturday I get mushies for three weeks so we will see. I think my body thinks it is in starvation mode. Does that make sense. Once I get a fill I hope to start having a regular weight loss. IF I lost 2 a week I would be thrilled but don't know yet. I walked 1.2 miles today for the first time and my shins hurt tonight. I also got in the pool today. It is a little soon but I feel good so far. Well talk to you girls tomorrow. Good luck to everyone else with their bands or pre band this week. Beckyo

Hey Indiogirl,

I found so many congrats note that I went back to find out what was happening.....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW. Gives all us old broads hope. SO much for it's harder to lose when you're older. You go girl. Great!

Hello everyone! Been on and off- mostly off. Things moving along. I'm down 42.5- need to update my siggie I think. I only had a 2cc fill my first time out (June 5) but I'm still feeling nicely restricted - especially if I don't chew well or wait long enough between bites. Happily, no nausea, pb'ing. I'm being very careful. I'm eating a bit more than I was, but I'm staying around 800-900 calories a day.

Tonight I tried two new foods. It's so interesting. I tried a bit of pizza. Didn't go down well. So that's it for pizza for a while. Then this evening I gave nigiri sushi a shot. No seaweed. YAY! I was able to eat 3 pieces. The bad news is it took almost a half hour LOL. Not important enough to do very much. I used to eat sushi constantly. Wouldn't run for more right away, but it is nice to know that I could do to a sushi lunch with colleagues and have a little.

All in all, I'm a happy camper. NOW, if only I could really get my emotions under control, I'd be really good. Still a lot to work on......

Hey there Nicnaknut-we've missed !!! Glad to see you back

Thanks for the props - no not going anywhere - I gotta stay on my LBT it's my transfer addiction.. It keeps me honest...

Yep I talked to my Doc about giving Phyl a fill when she was here last winter -but he wanted like $750 if not a thousand - it is totally unreasonable imho - what if you move how do you find a doc to take over your care - we don't have fillcenter in our area. I think Phyl did find one in Riverside who would do it - but she was about to go home so she waited.

Sharon you are too tight - if you have been throwing up it has been suggested at my support group to eat ice chips to reduce the swelling - call your doctor tomorrow - you should not be pbing on water...

Thanks so much !!! I have tried sushi once since being banded it didn't agree with me I think I ate 2 piece of the fish and 1 bite of rice - and for $15 that was to much $$ for so little food - so I won't be going there again for a while - pizza I can do 1 piece.. Congrats on the 42 lbs that's great..

Well, gang gotta go finish packing - leaving for Vegas tomorrow be back Sunday - will ck in on Sunday if not too tired...

Be Good - Make Good Food Choice TTYL

Hugs Janet

Welcome, Gail!!

You need to subscribe to this thread. There should be a tab at the top that says "tools" and that's where you find "subscribe to this thread." I don't see it there now! Maybe because I'm already subscribed. Or they may have moved it under "Members Area".

I'm not much help, am i??? They keep changing everything and I can't keep up!!

I have had one fill, 5/9, banded 3/19. luckily i am keeping steady with about a 2# loss per week. but it is a struggle. I am very conscious to record ALL my food intake, keep around 1100 calories today and 80-90 gms Protein daily. Exercise at least 5 times a week: Water aerobics, walking..

I go back on 6/10 and am going to insist on a fill. so far only 4cc in my 14cc band.

I agree, that throwing u water is a sign of your fill being too tight. Did your DR have you drink anything in the office before you left?? Call your DR and please let us all know what they said.

Lynn you are doing GREAT !!! iKeep up the good work  if you are losing that much weight your doc may not fill you.. in the beginning I think we get phyiscologiclly addicted to fills - it really doesn't matter how much you have in your band it depends on your restriction- how much are you eating per meal - at what point to you get full.. I will tell you from personal experience you never want to be too tight - it is awful - once was enough for me - and again our bands can be very fickle - one day loose the next day tight - last night made 2 eggs couldn't eat them all..

Yes I love the beach too - as a child every summer we vacationed at the beach - I would live there (on the ocean) but dont' have $5 mil for a shack:lol:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
