Does anybody eat Buffet style anymore?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anybody goes to buffet style restaurants anymore. It seems like a waste of money....but I love Chinese food. What do you do? Just curious!

Anyalee:

I wouldn't bother with buffet because I can eat so little. If you really want chinese why don't you order a couple of your favorites, take them home, and divide them up into zip loc bags for some very small meals. You could probably get three or four things and put them together to eat for a week of suppers.

Or, if you don't mind wasting money go to the buffet and have a bite of this and a bite of that. Small bites, chew chew, chew, wait between bites, and enjoy!

I've gone to buffets since being banded. I can't eat much, but I just consider it evening out the massive amounts I could pack away pre-band.

Frequently.

I have a nice array of teaspoon sized dots on my plates...yes, plates w/ an S.

I don't eat but 1/2 of that....but to have variety is something I love.

I will occasionally do it but only occasionally because it seems like such an extravagance to eat so little and pay so much!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
