Question: A guy needs advice!!!

Recommended Posts

Maybe I should just put my pants in the dryer and try to shrink 'em.
Don't laugh -- it works! First wash them in super-hot Water for maximum shrinkage. Of course, the pants may get shorter but no narrower. . .

I'm a line dryer myself, but if you haven't had any complaints from Patty, just keep doing what you're doing. You must be a wonderful husband indeed if this is the only thing about you that her complaining friend can whine about!

Yeah, Betty, I am glad I asked. I was truly stumped. And I didn't want my personal feelings to interfere.

Thanks guys, I know it may have sounded like a silly question, but I know what to do now. I'll dry them just as I have all along.

I put mine in the dryer and I have hefty ones. I think you are awesome and yes you should put your pants in the dryer too.

Well, I am late to this thread, but just wanted to put my 2 cents in, LOL! I buy fairly expensive bras and I want them to last a good long time so I hang em up to dry. Now if my dh does the laundry he always puts em in the dryer. Am I gonna complain? HELL NO, HE DID THE LAUNDRY!!!

Ryan, you just keep right on doing what you were doing. Becky should be proud that her dear friend has a husband who is so willing to do all the things you do. Shame on her!!!

OK, I'm super-late to this thread. I line dry mine. It's so strange when you are a caregiver and helpers come in and end up getting involved in your loved one's underwear. All the former boundaries disappear. My Mom's best friend shamed me into buying her new bras. She was right, but it was just strange to have her going through my mom's underwear drawer.

Ryan,

I never dry my bras in a dryer. I buy bras that last for years if treated right. This is what my mother taught me & I have always air dried them & they last a long time. I just set them flat on top of the dryer while the rest of the clothes dry. That way they get a little warmth to help them along. It goes quickly. They are expensive ($60-$80) each. You want them to last a long time. I do have a few less expensive Victoria Secret bras which I will tumble dry but only for a few minutes.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
