Birth Control Pills. Need some feedback

Jen, the headaches could be a result of the pill because even on the placebos you still have it in your system. Trycyclen pills did that to me. Plus it made me CRAZY.

Kissmygrits, I was having the same CRAZY symptoms as you, so my doc switched me to ortho novum if that doesn't work out I might just ask about the Ovcon. Glad to know I wasn't the only one being made crazy from the trycyclen ones!

Thanks, my doctor wants to see me to see if thats the reason or something else ... The only reason i'm on them in the first place is because of my irregular periods :cry so maybe stop using them:phanvan

I've been on ortho tri cyclen lo for almost 4 years and I have experienced no problems. I wish I could get my husband to get a vacectomy but we are planning on having children at some point so until then I will have to continue with the ortho.

I have been on depo on and off since I was 17. I LOVE it -- no periods (yipee!!).

I have also been on several pills, but they make me feel sick, but if I take them before bed it usually isn't that bad (since its hard to be nauseated (sp?) in your sleep) but I forget to take them so it's not the best choice for me.

I also have tried nuvo ring. I really like it, except sometime the guy can feel it when you have sex.

I was on depo for about 7 years and loved it! I hate periods! I am on seasonale now, it was good until I had surgery. I have been spotting pretty much ever since. I go to the dr on Tuesday, I was going to ask about Mirena. Anything to make it stop!

I was also on depo for about 7 years, but weight gain is a big side effect with it, so I decided to switch after being banded. I'm on Yasmin now and haven't had any side effects.

I am on a pill called Desogen (I am not sure if that is the generic name or what). I have been on it forever and just recently, my Dr. asked if I wanted to have fewer periods - uhm, yeah, so she has me on it "continuously for 3 months at a time. So I skip the white pills the last week and only have periods 4 times a year. From what she was telling me, I believe all bc pills can now be used to this - just a tip for those that want it less and less.

When I was on the tricyclen BC I used to skip my placebos and go right to the next month so I wouldn't have a period. I'd do it on occasions such as my wedding or a vacation, etc. Let me tell you though, It made me super CRAZY. I have found out now that the progesterine BC is what makes me crazy so I have to take the estrogen BC. I am currently doing good on the Ortho Novum, but my PMS hits like an anvil. I get the pms Migraines, lower back pain, cramps, etc. My doc is changing me to a lower dose estrogen based BC to see if it helps any. I will let ya'll know.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
