Do you have a time table for your goal weight?

Recommended Posts

I have been thinking about this more and more and I was just wondering what everyone else has done? I have about 100 lbs. to lose and I'd really like to be at goal by a year post op. Is that a good goal or should I shoot a little lower?

That was my goal... 100 pounds in a year. I figure that's 8-10 pounds per month and 2-3 pounds per week?

But I worry because I hear so many people hitting long plateus even with fills in between. I'm losing pretty good right now, so good that I didn't even get my first fill... I have to go back in January... I guess that's good. My Dr. only expects 1-2 pounds per week of loss and I'm at 2-4. So I'm a happy camper... for now.

I really didn't have a # but more a size goal. My goal was to get into an 18. I hit that at my first year mark. My goal now is to hit 16 and I would like to lose 30 more lbs in the next 6 months. That puts me a little over 1 lb per week. I'll be down almost 100 lbs at that time. I am 65% at goal right now. I am considered a slow/average loser. My goal is 185 and I'm 218 right now. Good luck! You can totally lose 100 lbs in a year. You really need to exercise though.

Nope. Que sera, sera!

My only goal is to keep plugging along, following the rules as best I can and getting back on track if I should stray. I'll drive myself crazy if I if I try to set a timetable but goal-setting does seem to work for many folks.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
