Well, I just had my first PB, and it was not a fun experience. I had just read a post by Jack that talked about how you get that feeling that you did something wrong after about 2 bites, and that's exactly how it was for me. Two bites, incredible pain, and then PB! There is a gal on OH that has in her signature line "A PB is like the big O-if you have to ask if you did it then you didn't." Boy, you aren't kidding!!

That saying is so funny... I do believe I've come across that before.

Sorry to hear you had a PB... can I ask what it was that you ate? Had you eaten that food before or were you trying something new since banding?

Thanks for the warning sign... I'm always worried about getting one of those, nothing close to it yet...

What is PB'd??? I get that it is when food does not work, but what does that mean. I think I am brain dead before Christmas~

It means "productive burp". Which is really just a nice way of saying barfing!

lol., that is too funny. Just think of it this way. Once you do it, it becomes easier. Shucks, I even PB sometimes brushing my teeth!

Oh boy, something to look forward to!!:biggrin1:

We have a lot in common. I am the same age and well, I'm only 4'10" (stretching tall). I was banded 11/30/07 and luckily, have not experienced the "pb"... You will reach that goal!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
