Protein snacks soft food stage

Recommended Posts

What are some good high Protein Snacks for soft food stage? I'd like to start moving away from Protein Drinks. Thanks!

Homemade cheese crisps and hummus were one of my go-to faves during this stage. Also ate a lot of string cheese, greek yogurt, cottage cheese with different spices... Etc.

More like a twist on a Protein Drink. I bought an Inspire Mint Chip Protein drink mix and freeze it to eat like ice cream. The consistency is more icy than creamy, but I take longer to eat it and I can pretend it's ice cream.

I second the cheese, love cheese.

I wasn’t allowed to snack until solid foods - three meals only in purées & soft. And then it was one snack: a high Protein yoghurt (was already eating that as a meal option in purée stage because I stopped shakes once liquids ended) or soft cheese (I liked Jarlsberg & string). After a couple of weeks I could have certain fruit as a snack option too or sometimes ate a wedge of cucumber (peeled) sprinkled with salt. Didn’t have other Snacks until I was starting maintenance & I needed to up my calories. But plans are different. Check with your dietician for ideas that are suitable within your plan.

PS - Yoghurt drinks are great too - blend your high protein yoghurt with milk.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
