Hey, all. Surgery went well yesterday. My surgery sight isn't very painful, but the gas is. I'm still recovering in the ICU. They have me here because of getting an RNY and I'm on cpap. The staff has

  • Hi! I just got my surgery date today. It's May 16, very close to yours! I'm a little overwhelmed and waiting for the excitement to kick in :)

I believe my date is going to be May 8th. That's the date they submitted to my primary insurance (united healthcare). I don't have bariatric surgery coverage with my primary though so I'm waiting for

Yes difficult to get all the liquid and Protein in. Even prepping the 1oz cups ahead. Very fatigued all I want is sleep! Anyone else having these issues?

I am so fatigued. All I want to do is sleep, but that has been a struggle. I purchased an angled pillow and I’m hoping that helps.

@CarolineLittle I’m having the same issue with the broth and jelly. I’ve honestly stopped those 2 due to just the thought making me nauseated. I’ve been trying different protein shakes and that’s somewhat helping, but I’m definitely getting burnt out.

I can’t take anymore of the room temperature liquids so i moved to slightly cold? liquids. I did make my own broth and that has helped. I also switched from premier protein drinks to powdered whey protein drinks. My stomach has been able to handle chocolate so far and I’m drinking 4ozs 3xs a day. I also drink water with unjury strawberry sorbet protein mix. I managed to walk a mile and half yesterday. Today is day 5 post op and i feel good. My incisions are starting to itch a bit. Hope everyone is doing well.

So do we have to keep doing 1oz every 15 minutes or can we go with 2 oz every 30 minutes? Now 1 week post op

I would keep with the 1 oz every 15. And try to up it from there, to maybe 1.5 oz.

Glad you're trying other shakes. I'm sure it's very frustrating.

Hey y’all

I had my 2 week post op on Friday down 13lbs since the surgery. Cleared to eat soft foods for over a week but I have been having a lot of thick saliva or mucus that comes up and I can’t keep my food down. At first if I drink something hot/warm for my last drink before my 30mins it would stay down but now maybe half stays down but the rest comes back up. Is anybody else experiencing this? I’m willing to try anything at this point.

Please help??

Miss sunshine p sounds a bit like frothing to me. Look it up I think there are tips on how to deal with it

I'm absolutely miserable right now. I am nauseated all the time so have to take meds for it. I'm thinking it's meds on an empty stomach. I take Effexor, Multivitamin and Iron plus anything else I need like nausea or pain med. The first 3 are with food and well there's no food really! So for a few days I'm only taking Effexor to see if it helps, plus it's puree time. Not that I even want to eat anymore!

CarolineLittle I am so sorry, and I can relate. Just the nauseas feeling no actual vomiting. I pray we get better soon

Thank you this was very helpful and insightful. I thank God for this group you guys are amazing. I’m only close to 3’weeks post-op and I’m struggling with this but the article is right it doesn’t happen all the time and I’m learning slowing what causes it
