Pain on left side

4 days post op today . Haven't taken any meds other than Tylenol. I am having pain under my rib cage and shoulder when I sit straight up or stand . Anyone else get this . I'm scared it's a leak but I don't have any of the other symptoms.

It's gas from the surgery. Use a heating pad, walk a lot, take it slow. It's normal.

Thank you . Was thinking that too . But just don't understand why it's on my left side only and when I eat/ drink or stand . Seems to be fine when I sit still

You move & the gas moves. It’s just trying to escape your body. You can help it along by not only walking but marching on the spot & doing arm & leg lifts (carefully of course) & breathing deeply.

Gas.. it sucks but it will pass in a few days. Heating pad helped me.

Everyone pretty much nailed it here. It is gas...some get relief from heating pads, others get relief from moving. I walked a lot in the first week or so and it really helped with that for me.
