Congratulations on the loss and your surgery date. Just don’t be surprised if you don’t lose as much as others do on the pre op diet because you have already started to lose that initial Water weight which is awesome. Anything you lose now just makes it that much easier later. Keep it up.

Well they canceled my surgery for July 25th because I was vapeing!!!! Like it only has 2%nicotine. I'm so pissed off 😤. Now I have to take two negative nicotine test 30 days apart. Then they will reschedule!

Oh Shoot! That is frustrating! How long does it taken for nicotine to get out of yours system?

Smoking and vaping play a factor into anesthesia and puts you at a higher risk for heart attacks, blood clots and pneumonia. I know it's frustrating but keep in mind they are only wanting what's in your best interest. It will get here before you know it!

For an advid user can take up 4-6 weeks.

Nicotine can also affect how you heal. I know it's frustrating but they have your best interests in mind. Also you know that nicotine is not recommended post surgery right?

I vaped before surgery and had to quit prior which I did my surgeon said 8 weeks of no nicotine before but I read it takes 4 weeks had to have a negitive nicotine test before my date I will say that the good part of vaping over smoking is you change the nicotine level when I started the journey I was at a nicotine level of 6 and after my first appointment and when the bottle was empty I switched to 3 and when I got my date I switched to 0 which helped with the giving up and dosent show nicotine test because there is none. Sorry this happened my team made it very clear no nicotine and they would test for it and if I had it they would cancel it. Hope you don't get discouraged stay strong just another bump in the road it will work out. But I would switch to 0 nicotine level as soon as possible also I washed my tankard put in a new coil.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
