runny nose

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if your nose is supposed to run if you are full? I don't have a cold, but about a minute or two after eating I get a runny nose.

Yep, runny nose is a very common soft stop. Be glad you have it, it should have make life a little bit easier. ;)

thanks, everyone. I thought it had to do with a sense of being full. the only problem is I get hungry about an hour later, maybe it's boredom.

I have always had the runny stopped up nose when I got full; until I got the band. I don't get it anymore. Now I hiccup - which means STOP NOW!!!! I sure wish I could get a softer stop with a little more warning ;)

losing, you're right about the Protein, I didn't do too good in that area on my blood tests last month. I am trying Protein Bars between meals, makes my stomach growl and gaseous, probably the sugar alcohols?

losing, it is Met-Rx Protein plus bars, it has 32 grams of protein and only 3 gm of sugar, but it is 300 calories, do I need to look for a different one?

That is my soft spot as well. I also feel a little congested and cough a bit. I lost it for awhile but after getting my first fill it came back.

My soft spot was a runny nose and a sneeze...but that was when I was too tight. I had a slight unfeel and now I don't have the "trigger"....

I have started eating Carb Conscious Supreme Protein Bars...they are DEE LISH US!!! They are big, so I eat 1/2 for Breakfast with an Activia yogurt and 1/2 for lunch...they are 300 calories and 4g sugar--so rather than a snack--it's a Meal Replacement for me...If you like chocolate and carmel..this is the one for YOU!!!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
