The two-week liquid diet is really hard for some of us. I broke down on day four and ate a yogurt when I was doing my pre-op liquid diet. If you stay on track from here on out, I'm sure you'll be fine despite the prawns.

I've had to do a two-week liquid diet once since having my sleeve surgery and it was easier this time (naturally, since I am post-gastric sleeve). Another thing that helped is that I was very generous with myself this time, in both amount, variety, and timing of my intake of allowed liquids. I basically made no attempt to limit the amount I consumed, I just focused on not eating anything that wasn't on plan. So whenever I was hungry, I'd have something, whether it was Water, Crystal Lite, tea, coffee, or a Protein Shake (my pre-op diet wasn't milk only). Even if I had just had something, if I felt hungry again a few minutes later, I had something else. I also added things like broth and clear sugar-free Jello (which I found out is allowed). By day 5, I was consuming a lot less because my appetite naturally declined.

Your pre-op diet sounds stricter than mine was, if it only allows milk. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to get through it. You just have to grit your teeth and push through. Hang in there, it will be worth it!

Thank you so much for your reply.

From looking through my paperwork it seems the milk plan is just my consultants preferred diet of choice before surgery and there are other low carb low fat no sugar diets people follow to achieve the ketosis.

i did look up the best Keto friendly foods and prawns was one of the top suggestions since its considered to be 'clean' I didnt realise just how awful id feel doing this right at the beginning and now i feel worried about eating them lol!

Back on the 100 percent milk track tomorrow for me 💪🏻💪🏻 Ive got this xx

Good Lord. What are you supposed to do if you're "lack toast and told her aunt" (LOL). Even I, not really lactose-intolerant, would be sick on nothing but milk for two weeks.

When ever my surgery is [ let it be soon ] I have to do 3 weeks milk and veg pre op, I am dreading it but also want to start !

I was wondering if you are feeling rough because you are withdrawing from sugars and caffeine as well as the lack of food. I have read on here that it gets better after day 5. Grit your teeth and get through. Be ready to give me some advice when its my turn, Good luck

Lack toast & told her aunt - hilarious @vikingbeast.

You’re suffering withdrawals from caffeine, sugar, carbs, … @Vicks1990. It will get better when you’re over the hump (usually about 5 +/- days). It’s called hell week for a reason!

There are several different pre surgery diet plans but just like your post surgical plan it’s best to stick to the one you were given. My surgeon gives different plans to different patients based upon things like starting weight, eating habits, weight loss history, etc.

The pre surgical diet is in place for a number of reasons including to shrink your liver so the surgical field can be visualised more easily, lose weight before the surgery (so you’re healthier) & break some of those food addictions & eating habits. (Better to have the withdrawals now then immediately after your surgery when you’ll have other things to manage.) Between the calories you’re eating & your fat stores you have plenty of energy available for your body function as it needs.

It’s only two weeks - you’ll get through it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
