Why is it so hard to find a good therapist?!

Late post. psychologytoday.com has listed therapists (all across the US) that shows their specialities or interest areas.

I found a therapist this way too! I had to look closely at styles of therapy and where they went to school. I picked one that had mentored with one of my son’s teachers. You can find a therapist based on location, topic, and style. Most therapy is telemedicine now so maybe locations are not so important. I would think cultural would be very important!

Agree, finding a good therapist is very hard. I have seen several over the years for different life issues that have arisen, and only two were good (both retired). The one that my surgeon‘s office required me to see before surgery was terrible. She talked about herself a lot and tried to push me to tell people I work with about my surgery. No thanks.

Also, the wait to get in can be over half a year. Sometimes, by the time I got an appointment, I no longer felt I needed help, or I had just suffered through everything on my own.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
