Hi everyone. I had my vsg on April 7th. A few nights ago I felt really bad tingling in my left arm and left side of face. It went away after about an hour or so (not sure if it's related). I went to the beach last night, and you know how when you're sitting on the ground, you put your arms behind you and kind of relax on your arms? Well I was doing that and every time I moved from that position, when I'd move my arms back to normal, my fingers on both hands would be stiff and "locked" for a few seconds before I could move them. I ofcourse thought Calcium, but I'm taking my Vitamins, calcium chews, and still having one Premier Protein shake a day with 650mg of calcium in that alone, so idk. Has anyone else had this?

Perhaps you may need more hydration and possibly electrolytes.
But give your team a call if you can and tell them about this. They may have so tips or instructions for you

I’ve always had that - getting stiff or cramped if I stay in the same position too long (could be five minutes could be 30). My hands became cramped from holding my iPad while reading last night.

Your weight distribution is changing as you’re losing weight so that may be contributing too. Magnesium can help with cramping.

But if anything seems or feels strange for you, always contact your medical team to be sure.

Magnesium and potassium deficiency. Happened to me too. I bumped up the magnesium and potassium and it went away.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
