Here is an abstract of a study from 2014.

In short, ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL (including total number of calories consumed) the study showed that there is no difference in calories burned over 24 hours between Breakfast eaters and skippers.

So if u’r hungry, eat, if you’re not, don’t. Just keep total calories the same, either way.

Thanks, this is a different study; the study I was referring to was more recent and also looked at people going against their normal Breakfast "inclinations", but it's the same overall results.

Two big mugs of coffee with half & half and a 16-20 oz bottle of flavored sugar free Water.

I just saw the underlined "sugar free water" and I was so confused. I thought maybe some people's taps were dispensing sugar water!!!!! 😂

First thing I have is Water and I do take my multi on an empty stomach...wait 15 mins then have breakfast. Bfast is usually oikos triple zero yogurt. I was a breakfast eater prior to surgery but sometimes unnecessarily restricted myself and called it intermittent fasting. It was miserable for me.

You are about 2-3 weeks ahead of me. Have you lost 36 lbs since surgery?

Oh, yeah, well, obviously that too, but I was hangry all the time I was dieting until the last few months when I discovered Protein (I'm wondering how I'll be after I actually have surgery...)

Protein will be your best friend after surgery! After you discover what your little stomach can handle anyway. Mine still revolts with too much chicken and doesn’t love beef so much now. Waah!

Not pills. I normally start the day with a loaded up Protein Shake blended in the bullet. I may not have it until close to lunch time some days, I am never in a hurry to eat/drink first thing like I used to be. How about you?

Black tea with half and half, Chai or green tea latte. Then Water or other sugar free drink. Sometime herbal coffee alternative since I had to give up coffee 2 yrs ago.

When I was in weightloss mode, I pretty much stuck to greek yogurt or Protein Shake for Breakfast every day. In maintenance, I've expanded a little, but am still pretty boring! shake, bar, yogurt or 1/2 breakfast sandwich.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
