I had my bypass on 03.17.21. The pain has been intense. It was manageable the first couple weeks home but seems to be worse now. It is getting to the point that walking to the bathroom or making something to drink is painful. I feel like I am being stabbed. I am still on pureed foods for another couple weeks. I have been very careful and would have thought the pain would be less. Very frustrating since I am the type of person who is always on the go. Anyone else have this issue? Should I be worried and contact the NP?

I would probably call the NP - if nothing else, for peace of mind.

Contact your medical team. If anything seems odd or wrong for you, is causing pain or has prolonged symptoms always call your doctor. Your pain should not be worsening.

I am finally pain free!! My NP told me it is normal to have this much pain due to the suture they do with your stomach muscle. She said once it is dissolved the pain will go away instantly. Next day no pain. I am starting to feel like myself once again. Down 31 lbs and counting.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
