A Little Confused

Recommended Posts

YESTERDAY I HAD A STEAK 8OZ, A SWEET POTATOES1/2,AND A SMALL salad. GOT UP THIS MORNING AND DRUNK A CUP OF coffee CAME TO WORK AND IT'S ALMOST 8:30AM SO I DECIDED TO EAT A BOILED EGG. WHAT A BAD CHOICE!! I GOT A PAIN I NEVER FELT BEFORE IN MY CHEST OR STOMACH, I WAS IN TO MUCH PAIN TO KNOW WHERE EXACTLY DID IT COME FROM! IS THIS RESTRICTION? I HAVE BEEN FILLED 5 TIMES AND NEVER HAD SUCH A PAIN, SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS IS RESTRICTION!! AND WILL IT LAST UNTIL LUNCH(THE FULLNESS) BECAUSE I ONLY ATE TO BITES OF THE EGG. BUT IF IT'S RESTRICTION,I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR IT FOR 3 MONTHS AND READY FOR IT!!!:clap2:

The pain isn't restriction, the pain is something being stuck and your body trying to unstick it. Getting something stuck is a "side effect" of restriction. Keep in mind that if you ate the egg without chewing sufficiently, too quickly, etc. you probably won't feel that same sensation other times when you eat. But yes - what you describe sounds like it got stuck, which isn't going to happen unless you have some degree of restriction, so... congrats, I guess. :)

I agree with Wheetsin. Also, if you can eat 8 oz of beef you definitely need a fill. I would see how you do moving forward to see if you get stuffed with 2 bites. It could be that your restriction just kicked in.

I have been wondering this for a while.....can someone explain to me why a fill can take up to 2 weeks to 'kick' in? I know personally, it seems like that is what it takes for me to notice the restriction but I can't explain why....

My guess is the airbubbles or travelling through the tubing.. and it finally gets there (or maybe sometimes doesn't).

If you ever had a chemisty set as a kid or something similar, when you put liquid in thin tubing like that, it kind of sits there.. and there's air bubbles trapping it. I think from moving it breaks up the air or pushes it through. I never quite get how the Fluid gets all into the band, I imagine it never all does?

thats a good point laura, I didn't think about that. I just got my third fill and I feel a bit of restriction right now....still not quite there I don't think....I am just really hoping that it kicks in about 2 weeks from now....just in time for xmas!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
