Being cranky

Recommended Posts

Well, lately I have been in one heck of a terrible mood. I am so stressed out right now and was having a problem figuring out why. Well, I figured it out, I used to stuff my face to deal with my stress and now I am not able to do that. Boo hoo, huh? I guess it could be worse. I guess I will have to start exercising to deal with it now.

Is anyone else going through this?

You could be on to something. I found myself getting cranky with kids last night, and I realised that they were not doing anything worse than normal. They're two good boys. I stopped and realised that it was my fault and might be food related (I got my first fill yesterday and ate very little all day). You're right, when I start to feel stressed I should simply go for a walk or do some other exercise.

i've been banded for about 7 weeks now, and i am just now getting past the crankiness. dh is a real jokester and he said this to me (i was joking with him also). i have been really honest about my mood and we were laughing about it, now that i'm in a good mood, and dh said he was beginning to wonder if the stuck a stick up my ass instead of a band around my stomach. haha..so true, that is how i have been acting.

i was soooo hard. i wanted to eat, and i was pissed that i couldn't, and i couldn't cope.

i think this is very normal.

I ordered Winsor Pilates from the internet and can't wait to get them. I have heard wonderful reviews about it.

Paragirl, I'd be careful doing Pilates so soon after surgery, because it's all about using your stomach and stomach muscles. Maybe you should ask your Doc just to be sure. My doctor told me not to do sit-ups for at least 6 months, and it seems to me they are similar.

I'm just concerned for you and want you to be careful not to do any damage to your new stomach. Just one bandster looking out for another. :-)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
