LOL. I feel ya! Even though I did the 6 month diet before surgery, and mentally and physically prepared, I still had cravings. I really want some homemade biscuits and Tomato gravy! Lol. They'll get less once you start soft foods. My doctor let me start 4 days early. I'm having deli turkey slices and small pieces of cheese. Two at a time and I'm full. Lol. And once I was approved to move to some diet ocean spray juice, I felt better also. Im a Water lover but I just needed something else.

Hi everyone! Still feeling great. But I’m feeling like I have such horrible cravings for real food. Like I just want some Peanut Butter, or a chicken breast. Even a whole wheat quesadilla. Is this normal??

Yeah I wonder if they’ll let me move to full liquid diet and then purée a lot faster since I am having zero issues getting liquids down.

You never know. I know every doc is different. I had two friends who had the same surgery as me at two different hospitals with two other different doctors two days after me. And one was able to have oatmeal on post op day 4! I don't think I'd try it but still. Lol. And the other friend has a diet that is by days not weeks like mine.

I am about 20 hours post op, still in hospital. Having relatively easy time as well. Only one half dose of narcotic last night but otherwise just having liquid Tylenol. I am not sleeping much, partially because my heart rate is weirdly low (45-55) and the alarm keeps going off so I move around to keep it above 50.

I feel like I can totally relate in a way. My surgery date was 4/19. I did have pain at the hospital but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, it hurt less when I first started walking. Honesty, I mostly just felt tired haha I actually haven't had to take any of my nausea medication through my recovery, I haven't felt any nausea. In fact, im only in my second week and im already having more energy. I did feel more proud the next couple of days after surgery especially when I tried to get out of bed, my fiance had to help me. That was really painful, I had to take pain meds for about a few days but it was mostly gas pains as well. However, after four days, I have been fine! The walking really does help :) and I just believe that my recovery has been a lot of smoother than I imagine it to be.

It’s not a dream. I felt similar afterwards. Felt guilty because someone in recovery next to me was In a great deal of pain but other than what felt like I did about 5,000 crunches I had no pain. I was worried about going home the next day and not having the hospital bed rails to pull myself up but I figured out how to do it. Just keep your fluids up and you should do great. Congratulations on your surgery.

Absolutely. I was craving tacos throughout every phase. I am cleared for regular food now but still Scared to try a taco shell so I have had taco salad but not tacos.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
