Done, Wrong. Now wait to submit to insurance 9 people ahead of me.

Recommended Posts

I live in NC, and finished up everything the Dr. required so we could submit to insurance for approval. I was so excited. The nurse and staff informed me at check out that it can take up to 2 weeks for a decision. Well, today is Nov 10 and just shy of 2 days of the approx. 2 weeks for a decision from insurance, so I called my Dr office just to check the status to only be told " that my information hasn't even been submitted to insurance yet because they're 9 people ahead of me?" OK. Understood, but why wasn't I informed that on the day that everything was complete, instead of the wait time now of 9 more people ahead of me. I guess I'm just curious if this has happened to anyone else? We work so hard to get to the surgery day to be told we have to wait again. IDK... just upset. Thanks for listening and letting me get this out.

Thanks so much for the response. I'd never heard of this? At least I know now that this isn't uncommon. Also, congrats on your weight loss, that is wonderful. I'm so happy for you. Thanks again..

Oh that's just not right. Don't they have staff that does nothing but that and can get out more than 9 applications in two weeks? Dang!

I know that's exactly how I felt. Wanted to update you.. I did receive my approval and I was told that they would be calling me this 1st week of Dec to inform me of my surgery date? I hope. I'll keep you posted and thanks for your support.

IMO i think as soon as you have all your stuff done, it should be turned in. Who cares if there are 9 people or 1.... I say first come first served.
My original dr/SX compiled all the results and submitted to insurance with a SX Date in one large packet. I was approved in 2 days.

Thanks so much, and I hope all is going well for you. I kind of wish I'd gone to Winston or Wake for this but the Dr that I am going to has done surgery on several ppl I know and they have all done very well so I just want to get it done, already. Thanks for the encouragement.

Wow!! I know that was wonderful. I wish my dr office was half as organized?? Which I'm not sure if that is the case it could have to do with all this covid? I don't want to put my Dr or his office ppl down, because they have all been wonderful and very helpful. I am just ready to at least know my date. LIke I told someone else, It reminds me of a game we played as children the one I think called "shoots and ladders" 2 steps forward and then 3 steps back. I'm just ready to have my surgery. Thanks for your reply. I can see by your stats that you've done amazing.

My doctors office said it would be up to two weeks for insurance approval. It was 10 or 12 days, but that was all my md office submitting it. Actual turnaround time from insurance was next day. Kinda annoying, but oh well.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
