Many loves,

Eastern or Western? I had surgery in Bellevue but I live in Lynnwood.

I live in Bellevue! Having surgery in Kirkland. Not scared but I am scared! Anxious nervous all of those things wrapped in one! I thought of moving to Lynwood.

Is anyone doing outpatient? I’ve read all these posts where people are staying overnight for days and I’m supposed to get up and walk out after my surgery is done! Is that weird or what? I’m less than 2 weeks away and I’m getting nervous!

My surgery is outpatient as well. My doctor doesn't keep folks in the hospital/ Part of me is OK with it because i would rather be in my own bed.

The best advice I got pre-op and again post-op was to take things day by day. If I got stressed or was hurting, take things hour by hour. That really helped me get through the rough days when I wanted to focus on being healed and past liquids and such.

You’re gonna do great.

Anyone else feeling foggy on the liquid diet? I am on Actigall and it’s not a side effect, but I am having trouble finishing a thought and feel drugged. I’m having a Gatorade Zero in case it is electrolytes (I have been peeing like crazy!!!). I can have only Protein Shakes and raw veggies. What has it been like for you all?

I hear ya! I am on Protein Shakes and 2 egg whites a day. The first 3 days were the worst. I ended up taking off one day because I felt so tired. I am on day 6 now and feel much better. I run out of energy by the evening but during the day I feel pretty good.

Foggy for sure! I was drained/dazed on the pre diet and the 2 week post liquid as well. Purées is when I gained clarity and energy. Soft foods felt like rebirth.

Hang in there.

Hey there ! I have one week of pre op diet left too. My surgery is 10/13. I just had my call with the OR and it feels so real now ! There were so many instructions I wasn’t expecting. It was so thorough which I liked.

when is your date

I had my surgery 6 days ago and I am doing well. I am kind of over the liquid diet but oddly the liquid diet does fill me up quickly. I think my brain is just confused as to how this is even possible 😂 I have 2 more days before I move on to the puree phase. As for my surgery, I haven't had any issues. My incisions are healing well. No vomiting or nausea, and my pain is minimal. The doctor wanted me to get up and moving asap. After I woke up in recovery I began doing laps around the nurses station and again once I was placed in a room on the floor. I was nervous going in because of Covid I wasn't allowed to bring anyone into the hospital with me, but my medical team took great care of me. I am so happy to start this new journey. Congratulations to everyone who made the decision and is doing the hard work.

I am 2 days away! I have done well on this liquid diet much to my surprise. Today is my last day of work before Wednesday’s operation and tomorrow I am having the EGD done. I am thankful for this forum.

Good luck!!

I have to stay overnight but I don’t have to do a pre op diet. Anyone else doesn’t have to be on a certain diet before surgery?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
