I don't know what I'm feeling

Recommended Posts

I was banded on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday I had to force down liquids. Today I'm getting hungry, my stomach growls, but it feels like there's a ball in m stomach. I'm on a semi-liquid diet, Soups, yougurst, shakes etc. I have no intention of cheating but could i be drinking to ast? Also what does it really take to stretch a pouch. This is a fear I think I will have, that I will eat too much. Help:help:

I'm 4 wks. out. If I am hungry my stomach starts growling and making funny noices. On the first few days it felt weird and now I don't feel those weird things anymore. Don't worry about it,you can't have stretched your stomach in three days.....

The real weight loss will be after the fill. This week you'll be losing a lot of weight, then it wil slow down. You will eat more, but then you'll exercise.

You better get used to the growling because it's gonna be a regular thing for a while. Just because you growl does not mean you have to feed the monster. It is also not unusual NOT to want anything for the first day or two after surgery. You do tend to have to make yourself comply about that. Get yourself some Protein Shakes, or try something like Isopure clear Protein Drinks (index). That will help appease the hunger. Just keep up with the semi-liquids and fluids. Things ae going to get a lot more active in that gut before they settle down! It's just part of the process.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
