3.5 weeks out and still can’t sleep from pain

Recommended Posts

I had surgery in July 15. Since the , I haven’t been able to sleep in my stomach or side. When I try, it feels like my insides are all moving and a weird muscle in my left side abdomen cramps up terribly. I need sleep :( I can’t sleep on my back. Pillows aren’t helping.

Is this normal?? When will it stop happening?

O that’s rough! I only had pain a few days my sleeve was 7/14! I did cuddle a pillow to stand , sneeze and sleep! Did you ask your doctor? I know everyone is different but I feel like you shouldn’t be in so much pain you can’t sleep.. gosh I hope you get well soon

Contact your medical team ASAP. Pain is never good especially this long after surgery.

Hope they can sort this out for you soon.

I actually did call my doctor. I was told it was from the ‘anchor stitch’ during surgery. I was also told it should go away in another week or two... and that it’s their number one complaint from bariatric patients post-surgery.

Wish they had told me before now so that I could have expected it :(

I think it took me about that long before I could sleep on my side or stomach. Same deal after plastic surgery, too...

Today is my one month anniversary and today my internal stitches just seemed to stop pulling and burning n pain. I just woke up with out it. Last night was the best sleep I had since surgery. So hang in there the pain will just because almost not there one day. Good luck!

In that case, Anchors Away! Keep us posted on the outcome.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
