So I'm 4 weeks out from surgery as of yesterday. I lost about 13 lbs my first two weeks and now, I'm only down ~7 more lbs.

At my 2 week follow up, my docs wanted me to double that, by the time of my 6 week follow up (from 304 to 278). I've been hovering around 298-297 since my 2 week follow up and I can't understand why. I honestly don't eat (never hungry/get full quickly) and walk at least 30 mins a day w/my doggo. I've built my stamina up from being able to walk only 10-15 a day. My clothes fit better, and I'm losing inches, but the lbs aren't going away.

Would anybody have an idea why this might be happening? I stick to my diet, and don't eat anything I shouldn't and try to get my Water intake in. I admit, I struggle with my Protein intake because I just cannot stand Protein Shakes and I can only manage to eat 1x a day. If anyone has any advice/information, I'd love to hear it. I'm slowly adapting to this new lifestyle and I don't have a lot of people to talk to about this.

Thanks!

There are a million posts on this topic here. Everybody is different and your body is fighting back. I found mix a little 12 hour fast in it and mix up your calorie count one day do your 1200 next day do 900 - The key is you have to trick your body into burning again. Right now it says no way Conserve fat Conserve

But great job and the lifestyle change will come and become way easier

I just did a search on this site for you. There are literally 17,501 posts on this early stall. Pretty much everyone has it. I really think bariatric clinics ought to warn people about this because it happens to almost everyone, and people really freak out about it. Just stick to your plan and your weight loss will start up again. Stay off the scale if you have to. It usually lasts 1-2 weeks. Here are all the posts on it. Really - over 17,000 of them.

Follow your diet and you'll resume your excellent weight loss soon. It is science. Your calorie deficit will result in weight loss. Just be sure to get all your Protein so your body won't consume muscle.

Here are some things I ate during that stage: eggs, melted low fat cheese or string cheese, mashed potatoes, bananas, Peanut Butter, applesauce, lean ground meats like turkey, and cooked carrots. Homemade slow cooker turkey chili was a daily staple for a while.

What is your Water intake? I’d say track this closely. If the body is constantly dehydrated, it will tend to hold on to water.

it's the three week stall. Almost everyone goes through that. Although you're right, keeping up with your fluids is always important...

I’m in the same boat, but I did lose 1 lb. this week. Sad, but hearing others have or are going thru it helps to know we’re not abnormal. Thanks to all who ‘weighed’ in!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
