Oh I know, I’m in the same boat! Literally! Crystal light is more flavorful too! Try the cream of Soups just blend so no bits, you should get some satisfaction from it. Just make sure to only have about a half cupful. Too much more than that at one time makes me feel nauseous and weird. Good Luck! Btw is you belly still hurting ? And incisions itching? Mine is.

I’m in the same boat! 7 days post op and getting hungry 😫 Fairlife chocolate milk with another scoop of unflavored Protein Powder has been a life savor for me.

side note- today was the first time the incisions started to itch. Normal? Anything to help?

They get itchy that’s normal and I’ll try that because I’m in deeeeeeppp depression. I know it’s head hungry because all I want is Pasta 🍝🥴🥴

My doctor said I was ok to try new and more things so I tried that ricotta bake that I hear so much about. It’s soooo tasty but the heart burn is intense. However, if you don’t get the heartburn from it, it may help with the Pasta cravings.

Every doctors office is different. I was only on liquid diet for 7 days, pureed for the next 7, then soft foods for two weeks, and then general diet (which is where I'm at now 8 weeks out). Her doctor may be more like mine lol

It's so strange, isn't it? I was on full liquids/purees from the moment I left the hospital. Now that I'm past two weeks I'm allowed soft mushy foods but I'm mostly staying on liquids/purees because I had a couple of issues last week (not sure if it was overeating or lactose intolerance, maybe both). Generally speaking I have a full Protein smoothie that I make every morning (my favourite is almond milk, chocolate Protein Powder, Peanut Butter powder, and maybe half a banana), then miso Soup with a few chunks of tofu for lunch, and either canned tuna with shredded cheese (not pureed, I just chew well) or an egg bite (mini quiche - muffin size) for dinner. I drink Water or clear Protein Drinks in between. I don't drink coffee but my doctor said it was okay for me to have a cup on the day of surgery (!) as well as my second day post-op. Maybe it's a European thing. ;-)

NO NO NO-

None of you are hungry! You are addicted to food like everyone else on this site! You are bored and you head is playing games with you. You do not need to eat and consume non stop.

We all had to get thru this phase! You are in the head game stage and you are not hungry! You head is tricking you to think you are hungry. Your nerves and sensors were cut out. So how the heck are you getting hunger pains when you only have a 4 oz pouch. Tv marketing and packaging is everywhere. There are so much more things in life then a box of Cookies or chips. However all of us addicts are caught in the food industry nightmare@

Ok now that i attacked you ---- You guys got this ,,,,,,,Change focus from food to something else. Slowly you need to sip something to get your mind tricked to think your not hungry. This is a b***h to do! I crashed and crashed big time The post is here way back. I was saved but my key was a puppy! Yes a lab puppy. I started focusing on him and training him and walking him and getting my abusive behavior towards food and vodka Under control. I also have chosen to Fish a ton and Travel a ton.

You guys do the same - Mix up you life. The old life sucked you were out of control with food and unhealthy. Now its time to change. Look up Fluffy Chick here and she has great posts on changing you lifestyle. Find something new to add to your life, hobbies, craft, outdoors, Partners, Pets, movies, Like Nike JUST DO IT!

This is not going to be easy, but once you do it the best journey gets even better!

I’m 16 days out and on the soft foods, purée phase. Once you are off full liquids and can start consuming more substantial food the hunger will ease. I was very discouraged at first with the hunger pains and yes. It is a mind game for sure! Keep following your dr instructions and listen to your body. I have been hungry or so I thought a couple of times on the soft foods phase but when I began eating, I fill up sooner than I thought I would. You’ll figure it out day by day.

oh and yes, the incisions do get itchy. I e always heard that means your skin and wounds are healing so that’s a good thing. 😊

I think my problem is the lack of Protein 😞😞 the shakes don’t stay down and I hateeeeeee vomiting so I’m afraid to even try other brands. I’m literally on Water and broth ( chicken) 90% is in my head but 10 % is hunger because of lack of protein. I’ll figure it out. I’ve been outside for a bit today and I’m in a much better mood 😌

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
