Hi all 🙂
I need to prep for a revision for next week. I have my old “sleeve” paperwork... is it different you think? Surgeons office said 2 weeks liquid but I did not do that last time with my nutritionist. 🤦🏻‍♀️ (who I’ve called and emailed and don’t have time to go see her again).
My surgical coordinator is on vacation, so can’t ask him.
Process was started 8-10 weeks ago and day before pre surgeon testing, last Thursday, they denied my revision. I appealed it and 48 hours later it was over turned. Thank God. But now I’m behind The eightball with the liquid diet. This GERD and hernia is horrible. All day non stop GERD. Doing double dose of meds per the surgeon for months now. So, here I am. Unsure if I should start Vitamins again, good ones etc.
I chew on some gummies when I remember (I know, my bad).
Unsure if they are going in lap or endo to do revision. I guess I could call and find out. Suggestions?
I have Protein Shakes and broth. Jello and pudding too. Ice pops.

If your surgeon has said 2 weeks liquid then you do 2 weeks liquid. They are the one that is responsible for keeping you alive , following the instructions they have given you should be a no brainer

What are you talking about? I’ve left the band??? What!? Just a worker in the office, due to the coordinator being on vacation, she said 2 weeks.
You don’t need to be rude “no brainer”.

Don't assume rudeness when none was intended. You did say "Surgeons office said 2 weeks liquid" which is easily construed as the surgeon's instructions. It looked like you were trying to avoid the liquid diet. Sorry we misinterpreted your post. Good luck with tour revision. I hope they give you very clear directives going forward.

May I recommend a book to you? Success Habits of Weight Loss Surgery Patients by Colloon M. Cook.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
