It has been one week ago Monday (3/2) I started my journey of no return. During the first five days, I became afraid, I thought I had made a mistake. I was in pain, from one of my incisions, suffering with head hunger, and not feeling comfortable after taking my liquids; mildly lethargic, nauseated, and suffering with the worst Constipation. I felt there was nowhere for me to go mentally.

The thought came to mind to use common sense. Since Protein and pain meds can cause constipation, I chose to reduce my protein intake for one day, increase my stool softener, and increase my fluids. I also walked more, and did some reading on this site. The hospital, where my surgery was performed, provided the link to this site as a resource. The experiences of so many have truly assisted me to become unafraid, and forward moving. Thank you😘

Kindness, peace and blessings to you on your journey. We are 1 day apart in our individual journeys, we will get there. I have had my moments of regret, second guessing myself and the first 2 days were hell.

unfortunately, most of us have chronic Constipation, so this may not be the end of it. It's the high Protein diet plus some of the supplements (calcium and Iron are both notorious for that). Exercise, drink a lot of fluids, and figure out what kind of OTC treatment works for you, and keep on top of it. Many people take a capful of Miralax every day - others take stool softeners - some eat a couple of prunes a day - some drink Smooth Move tea. Whatever works!

You got this - We all have been where you are! Reach out and ask or just vent! This part of the journey you are on is the hardest and it will get easier. You have thousands of us here that are paying back the help we got.

You can search posts i have done and I crashed hard, but i promise you if you stay focused on becoming healthy and happy you will never second guess you decision.

I am blunt so how i got thru it is this .......... You have a tool that will help you get healthy and live! If you would have or choose to stay the way you were YOU WOULD BE DEAD EARLY AND FILLED WITH DISEASES AND BE MISERABLE.

So stay focused get balanced and stop focusing on the surgery, I got a puppy to distract me but I do not suggest this, Do what you like to do, besides eating, I have seen everything on this site from Movies, pets, sex, netflix, Reading, etc. To distract you from the mind games.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
