Vitamin issues after DS

Recommended Posts

I know DS is more complicated to operate, but I am less worried it. I am 5 yrs post sleeve and gaimed back half of the loss in the last year.

Feel bad. Look bad. Domt feel good about myself.

Am considering resleeve or DS revision and I am only worried but Vitamin deficiency with DS. It looks like a more suatainable option. I am worried about future ability to take regular pills when I am old and need them. Worried about mulabsorbtion of minerals.

Can you please she your life stories after DS and your experience with the above issues.

Im a male 51 years old

Same age as you but Would it not be easier since you have done it to just go back and lose the weight again? The surgery is a tool and it looks like you lost control of the workshop - Just my view seems easier to just go back on plan and lose it back off!

FYI this scares the hell out of me also - putting the weight back on

I agree and wish i could. I lost 73 and regained 30. Not a big jump. Just step by step, little by little. Sleeve expanded and allowes for regular meals now so its harder. Tried to lose it back, but i think i need to see someone weekly for the support and long term work on ur goal. Even at the lowest point, i wasnt at the target weight. I will schedule a surgery for the summer and will try my best till then.

MsMocie, DS has the best weight loss and the most sustainable one. But it has two negatives: smelly body "outcomes" to say it politely, and the need to take Vitamins for life. But...the fear if gaining all the weight back is worse.

I have those with RNY. I don't think it's limited to just DS although I've heard this before. LOL. Poo Pourri...google it. :D

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
