The Lord's Supper

Recommended Posts

So this morning in church I told my husband IDK if I should participate in the Lord's Supper or not. We partake by drinking a small medicine cup maybe 1 ounce of grape juice and an oyster cracker to represent the blood and body of Christ! I said that grape juice has sugar in it! I finally just said you know I am going to do what I always do every week and take it because I know the Lord will take care of me. Somehow I ended up getting the biggest oyster cracker I have ever seen. I think it was honestly the size of a dime! I made my granddaughters laugh so hard on the way home because I told them that the Lord blessed me by having me pick up the biggest cracker in the plate!😂😂😂😂

True story. I visited a friend of mine who invited me to visit her Catholic church, so I went. Catholics believe in something called Transubstantiation, which means the wine and unleavened bread are the literal blood and body of Christ. Well, when the congregation went up to receive Communion, I just sat there. My friend asked me, "Aren't you going to join us?" I leaned over and whispered, "No, I am not into cannibalism..." She was laughing so hard she sat out herself, since it would be rude to laugh in the priest's face...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
