Good luck to everyone having surgery this week! I saw my GP to check in last week and had her take me off my one extended release heart med. Pulse went from super low to more normal levels, but my BP is also more reactive so that could be fun. I have my endoscopy tomorrow... woohoo. Not. Fortunately my best friend is taking me, so I at least get some time with her to get me through the process while the rest of the family is at work/school. I've been doing Protein Shakes for Breakfast and lunch with veggie Snacks after school around 3 and protein/veggies for dinner for the last 2 weeks, and I can really tell how the hunger is diminishing if I stick to that and not "cheat". Helps me not feel as worried about the milk only diet starting on the 11th.

I didn't see an official thread so I started one! I finally got my date in March on St. Patrick's Day just before my birthday. I'm excited and anxious all at once. It could have been scheduled in late Jan/Feb but the bari center didn't get the Doctor's clearance that they were looking for and I had to wait until she got off of her winter break to get her to redo it, and then it took a couple of weeks for me to finally call them. They had called but either didn't leave a message or didn't leave the right number (because they are associated with the hospital) so it took a while, plus I'm too busy at work right now to take off anyway.

Now that it's all set up, I have to spend the next month or so preparing the house, starting with the kitchen. Everything that I can't eat anymore is gonna get tossed. Starting Tuesday, I will be going to the bari classes so that I can get my head totally into this. The waiting has been annoying, but it's all falling into place. Sometimes I can't believe I'm really doing this!

I am also March 17th! The 18th is my daughters birthday! I started my pre-surgery diet today and I am struggling.

Well I’m on Day 3 of the liquid diet and I have to say it hasn’t been bad, but today I noticed not a lot of energy. I’m assuming it’s the body adjusting. I thought I would try the Premier Protein clear ( to get ready for Clear Liquids for Sunday) in tropical punch flavor and I gotta say it’s definitely NOT my cup of tea (too much of an aftertaste) ....lol. I much prefer the regular premier Protein Drinks. March 2 is getting real close!

Are any of using myfitnesspal to log your calories. Today was my 22nd day of logging but it’s the first day on the liquid diet so I’m wayyyy under their calories recommendation. So it will not allow me to complete my days into. Anyone know how to “fix” this?

I use the Lose It app and I've logging for over a year straight.

Had my surgery on the Monday 3/2, came home the next day. Tummy is very sore, to be expected. However I can’t get all the liquids down, had to cut the dosage in half but still feels very full. Anyone else having these issues?

I had my pre op visit today. I have to do one week of liquids pre op and can’t have even soft, solid soft foods until 9 weeks. I’m talking cottage cheese and scrambled eggs. Is that normal? The nurse said my doc is very conservative but dang!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
