I had the RNY on the 27th. I'm doing good with my Fluid intake and don't feel hungry, but everything just sounds so good to me right now. Does that make sense? I go Monday for post op and pray I can move on to the stage 2 diet. Will I feel better once I can have something other than liquid. I'm so frustrated!

Remember this is mental. We are surgery twins! So get this- my mom is here to help and brought 4 boxes of little debbies with her and then proceeded to bake a cake with my kid. Wonder where my issues come from lol. If you aren’t hungry then it’s a mental battle.

ust take it slow. I am 7 weeks post op and feel good. I was too afraid to move too quickly through the stages. I followed my doctor’s orders explicitly and haven’t had any issues. Good luck to you...

I agree with above Take your time and let you body make the decision, Good luck at the doc

I'm also had surgery on the 27th, VSG. I completely understand how you are feeling. I've had no issues, but I've already tired of the Protein Shakes, broth and Jello. I've had no problem getting in my fluids, or getting enough Protein, just want something different and more substantial. I remembered I had some organic creamy Tomato Soup made by Pacific, and a cup of that hit the spot! For some reason the Tomato Soup seemed more substantial. Maybe try that, or maybe some Bone Broth. Hang in there!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
