I had RNY rather than VSG, but 22 lbs down is about where I was at that point, and I also started out at over 300 lbs.
there are so many factors that influence your rate of weight loss, and most of them are out of your control (age, gender, metabolic rate, starting BMI). The only thing you DO have a lot of control over is commitment to your clinic's plan.
At almost five years out, I can't eat a lot in the way of fatty meat like bacon and sausage because it makes me feel like crap. I can have a piece now and then, but that's about it. I don't think I ate anything like that the first year or so post-op. I usually ate Greek yogurt for breakfast - but I know you said you're tired of that.
some people eat non-breakfast foods for breakfast, like chicken breast or deli turkey slices with a cheese stick or something along those lines.

Danidab64 reacted to AZhiker in Going Vegan... Is It Possible?I agree, PollyEster, that the two most life changing decisions I have made are 1) bariatric surgery and 2) going WFPB. My life is 180 degrees from where it was before. I am so much healthier. Going WFPB changed all my labs, even more dramatically that the weight loss surgery. Even after reaching goal weight with a loss of over a hundred pounds, my total cholesterol was still 235. A few months with WFPB, it dropped to 152! I feel so much better and have so much more energy and mental clarity, that I do not miss animal based foods at all. My family is also starting to eat more plant based meals - simply because they feel good after ward and can eat a lot of volume without a lot of calories. An added bonus is that when I think of meal shortages in the stores now, it doesn't phase us one bit. We know we can eat good, nutritionally sound meals indefinitely with no distress or worry about where our next meal will come from.

Danidab64 reacted to JRT Mom in Going Vegan... Is It Possible?I don't have a DS I have a bypass. I'm a vegetarian, NOT a vegan (I use dairy and eggs). So far nothing has bothered me. You probably are already taking B12 supplements, multivitamins and calcium? Getting enough protein might be a challenge for you, especially if you won't use whey isolate. I eat tofu, beans, lentils, eggs, cheese and peanut butter for my protein source.
My dietician knows about my food choices and says it can be easily done for a vegetarian. Hopes this helps some.

Danidab64 got a reaction from Fhionafaye in Molina Healthcare/ Washington Apple HealthThe schedule is controlled by the insurance company. I live in a rural area and my doctor/hospital is 2 hours away in another state. They allowed me to attend support groups that were local and scheduled all my medical appointments on the same days (pulmonologist, Endocrinologist, surgeon, dieticians etc. the time frame for mine was 1 year...they were not flexible about that at all.
I had my Bypass on 12/11/19 and finally feeling normal. I have not had insulin since the day of surgery. -
Danidab64 got a reaction from TattooedSeaStar in StrugglingJust take it slow. I am 7 weeks post op and feel good. I was too afraid to move too quickly through the stages. I followed my doctor’s orders explicitly and haven’t had any issues. Good luck to you...

Danidab64 reacted to charmed4 in Surgery without anesthesiaNo disrespect but this is nothing like any surgery you have had. During surgery no anesthesia I'm sure is not an option. Post no pain meds I'm sure can be and it's great you want to be "clean" however this is no joke....
