So as some of you may know I’m fairly fresh on the post op side. (Sleeved 12/11). I wanted to feel normal and prepare food for my hubby. So I made pork steak, Mac and cheese, and cabbage. His favorite. My recipes are pretty set in stone with some things, but veggies I always taste to make sure they’re seasoned. I did it. I tasted the cabbages without even THINKING! Then I got upset with myself. 😡 My dear old man doesn’t even know what the hell happened, just that my mood changed. *sigh*

Don't panic, as long as it didn't upset your tiny tummy it should be okay. Just be careful right now and stick to your doctor's diet plan for now.

Nobody on this forum is perfect except me! JK

Do not fret that it happens you have to live normally - Most of that event was in your head, As a chef you have to taste food while prepping it, but like said before ................. You did not get the ticket to the obese ball cuz you just tasted while cooking.

Thanks so much. It didn’t upset me at all though. They were boiled and rather soft.

It happens and you will get better at remembering. I am going to cook Christmas dinner and hubby and I have a plan. It's gonna be kinda fun, he's not leaving my side in the kitchen, we gonna stir and bake and HE's gonna taste. LOL We are all ready giggling about it.

You are doing great, I know you are, know why....because you were concerned about this! LOL

It's not going to hurt! If they were soft and it was just a taste it's not going to do anything. You're fine. Just remember to be careful with yourself - you've been through a big surgery and are probably feeling really fragile emotionally and physically right now. Cut yourself some slack. All of us have a lifetime of habits to change - it's going to take a bit of time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
