Hi Everyone,

So, I am 3 days post-op and I feel pretty good. I have walked 3 times a day (30 minutes each time) every day since my surgery, and have had very little pain or gas problems. I just have sore abs like I did lots of sit-ups. I am walking really slow on a treadmill, 1.8-2.0 miles per hour, but I think this is why I haven't been in too much pain.

How are all the other Jan. 23rd bandsters doing?

I was banded on the 22nd and doing great. Going back to work Monday. I have walked too. The only time I have gas pain is when I sit in a car. What are others eating in your first week.

I am only allowed 3 low-sugar protein shakes per day for the first 2 weeks, so I am drinking different brands everyday just to mix it up - slim fast high protein, boost high protein, and atkins shakes. I have a feeling that this might get old after a while . . .

I am having sf jello, popsicles,and broth. Also I am drinking decaf iced tea,and water. I have to admit I am hungry. Hopefully that is a sign of healing. I can't wait until Tues. when I can have full liquids. I will probably be awake a 5:00 a.m. just to drink a protein drink. Good luck to all

I am doing ok with my protein but I am getting a little weak. I am loving the Isopure 40 g of protein.

hi all i am new to this site and im being banded on monday 1/28 and im so scared......i have a 10 month old baby girl and all that i can think about is what if i dont make it through the surgery..........did anyone else fel this way.........

Sure that is natural. My Dr. talked about the risk of surgery. But being over weight is a risk too.

I put the 28th on my last post, but my surgery is actually the 29th, can someone add me, cuz I'm techno challenged.

My surgery is scheduled for Monday Jan. 28th in Coos Bay, Oregon. I've meds, clothes, heating pad packed. Assorted clear liquids and Unjury ready at home. Anything else? Oh yes and my husband!!

I would suggest a grabby stick thing. I found I had trouble bending - even now 4 days post surgery I'm just tender enough to have some discomfort when I have to bend over.

Just my thoughts. I never used a heating pad - did use an ice pack while in the hospital. (I did end up staying overnight in the hospital due to nausea and blood pressue whackiness)

I had the wonderful benefit of a full grown, full coated Siberian Husky stretched out against me the first night I was home - better than a heating pad and nice to hold onto!

Youniquegrl, I wasn't nervous, just excited. It really goes so fast. I remember the DR. saying he was giving me something to go to sleep, and the next thing I know they were waking me up in the recovery room. Try not to worry, You've been blessed with a baby girl,and now you will have the chance to really enjoy her. My thoughts and prayers will be with you tomorrow.
