  1. Please call your doctor. You have all the symptoms of a too tight band! It is not normal to have reflux, heartburn, or to be unable to eat a healthy diet. I hope you get this problem resolved. Good luck!
  2. Hi Everyone, I am going to start posting on here to motivate myself to get more exercise and get back to the gym. I had surgery a year ago and was working out 5-6 times a week until October when I started going through a divorce. Well, the divorce was just final and it is time to start exercising again. But somehow it is so hard to get motivated . . . I will post my first workout tomorrow. Pam

  4. I had lap band surgery 7 months ago and my hair has been falling out like crazy for the last month or so - It is really freaking me out! I need to take chewable vitamins as I can't seem to keep the regular ones down. They get stuck and come back up. Any suggestions on brands, where to buy, how much to take? Thank you!!!

  8. I had surgery on Jan. 23rd, and my doctor said that alcohol is fine. I usually drink 3-4 glasses of wine per week, but I make room for the extra calories by doing extra cardio on those days.

  11. Hi Everyone, Okay - I started the program today and it went well. I have been doing 1 1/2 hours of cardio 5 times a week (but no running) so I will have to get used to the running. Today was easy, but I have a feeling that it is going to get harder . . . I am hoping that my boobs will shrink as I lose weight, if you know what I mean . . . How is everyone else doing on the running program? Pam
  12. I have looked for the stuffed chicken breasts at the Walmart near my home, but I can't find them. Is there any where else I can buy them? 17. The only recommendation that I can give you is to find a doctor close to where you live. I was banded on 1/23/08 I go to my doctor frequently (4 times last month for fills), and also see his nurse and nutritionist for weight checks and overall support. Post-surgery care is very important with the lap band. Good luck.
  18. Today was a weird day - I was busy and ate at weird times, so I probably ended up eating too much. I did work out twice at the gym though. B - 1/2 low carb protein shake, 1/2 small apple L - 1/2 tuna wrap (small whole wheat tortilla, tuna w/low fat mayo, and veggies), a few baked lays D - 1 c. low-fat Beef Bourguignon, 1/4 c. mixed nuts S - 1/2 tuna wrap (left over from earlier)
  19. What about trying whole wheat (high fiber, low-carb) tortillas? I have used these to make sandwiches for lunch and have had no problem eating them. I just eat slowly, and it is a great source of fiber. White flour tortillas get stuck and make me sick, but I am fine with the whole wheat ones. Hope this helps.
  20. Hi Bibo07, I had the exact same experience as you - it was horrible! I would avoid taking laxatives. They are too harsh and are not healthy to take on a regular basis. My 4-year old was diagnosed with severe constipation as a baby and has been on Miralax for over 3 years. I take it now also and have had great results - no pain, cramping or gas. I take it 3 or 4 times a week in the morning mixed into my orange juice or V8. You can now buy Miralax without a prescription - I buy it at costco, but I see it at CVS and all grocery stores. Hope this helps!

  22. B - breakfast burrito with whole wheat tortilla, egg, 1 piece of bacon and sprinkle of cheese L - South Beach Diet lunch kit: chicken ceasar wrap S - small apple and beef jerkey D - 1/2 grilled chicken breast and 3/4 cup roasted veggies (eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, bell peppers and tomatoes)
  23. I would love a copy of the cookbook! I will also send a few recipes to you. Thank you for this great idea.
