Hi, just started using Baritastic, I'm a little confused. In the weight logbook, what does the "moving average" mean. Is the average that other ppl weigh ? It makes no sense to me.

I’m glad we are all confused on that because I saw that and my “moving avg” is always higher than my actual weight so what gives?

Overall I really like the app though. I like the milestone goals and the weekly average and all the other stuff.

Summary. The weighted moving average(WMA) is a technical indicator that assigns a greater weighting to the most recent data points, and less weighting to data points in the distant past. The WMA is obtained by multiplying each number in the data set by a predetermined weight and summing up the resulting values.

Moving average weight mode uses a trend predictor to predict what your weight is, and this usually results in a pretty smooth downward line. Instead of plateauing for 6 days and then losing 0.6 all at once, moving average weight mode is more likely to say you're losing 0.1 pounds all 6 of the days.
It is also known as "happy scale".

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
