OMG it is awful missing a dose huh I get whooshing head spins ugh 2 weeks in the hospital without it, on morphine, you can just imagine the mess I was haha

Anyone preparing for WLS must taper off any psych drug that has withdrawal symptoms BEFORE surgery date. Do your own research as most docs won't tell you a drug has horrible withdrawal symptoms.

Actually that is incorrect and it depends if the medications can be taken in liquid form, what you take them for and what your team want you to do it is not always a 'MUST'

Also, the only reason I couldn't take mine were due to post op complications, no other reason.

Very few psych drugs are available in liquid form. Many are time-released. So your doc needs to be part of your pre-op plan. Be sure you are on the meds you can stay on after surgery.

Actually quite a few antidepressants ARE in liquid form and I know because it is my job :)

It actually works very well for some folks. I have a family member that has been doing well for years taking it in combo with a few other meds.

If it is not working well for you, do not hesitate to see your dr and try something else. There are many things out there. You just have to find what works for you.

What I have seen some people do that are attempting to restart their weight loss is go back to basics. Start where you were just after surgery. Do liquids then soft foods, etc. always be sure to get Protein first.

Good luck!!!

Having taken Effexor in 2003 and a year working in the Emergency Department at Cottage Hospital and seeing how WELL it " works for some people" I stand by my original opinion . It's Dog Doo ! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
