It’s a little expensive but I use Daily Harvest for myself, which are super quick to cook (4 min in a pan) after I’ve made my daughter something.

I'm very curious how your weight loss has been to this point.

I find it difficult as it is just my husband I at this point and he weighs in at a whopping 135 and I usually have to make what he wants and just have the Protein myself. Next month my son is moving back in with us and he will eat anything I put in front of him, in fact he could benefit from this surgery.

Yes no this wouldn’t work in our house. I’m sure it would work when my older 2 were much younger.

What types of food do you keep on hand? The meatballs are a great idea.

Meatballs, cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs. Plus there are some great frozen options for wls patients at Walmart. My nutritionist pointed them out to me.

sous vide eggs with veggies and frittatas come to mind.

Plus I always have leftovers from the night before. Mostly I just cook things that my husband and I can both eat. Even if you end up making something with carbs in it that you can’t eat, pick the carbs out and eat vegetables and meat. I have an instant pot and can make delicious, healthy meals in a snap.

My philosophy was/is: I cooked everyone dinner, you’re welcome. It does not hurt my feelings if you don’t like it. We have bread, cheese, Peanut Butter, deli meat, eggo waffles, eggs and fruit if you would prefer to make your own meal. Feel free to order a pizza if you have money, I don’t care. This usually only happened on nights when I made curry, stir fry or fish. Now they all love those things.

I never claimed to be mother of the year.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
