Insurance approval for another revision

Recommended Posts

I had the band in 2010, revision to sleeve in 2014 due to major band slip (couldn’t even drink Water with empty band), and now having acid reflux and weight gain following a hysterectomy in 2016 and looking for options to revise again. Anyone else have a similar situation and any success with insurance approval?

With the fact that you have gerd the dr should be able to get approval for the revision I have only had the Vsg and preparing to revise to bypass. Gerd is my issue as well.

Hello I was banded and had it removed in July and went to the doctor for my last nutrition visit and paper work was sent to insurance company (Highmark BCBS) and I was approved the next day. Talking about fast service! I could just hug my nurse and medical assistant. The whole team has been awesome! So now patiently waiting for appointment on the 22nd of this month and then I have another one on the 27th and my surgery date is set for December 10th. I am scared and excited all in one!

I have highmark as well! I have my apt with my surgeon June 15th to see if he will approve me to have the surgery. They really approved it that fast ? Did you have any regain after the sleeve as well?

I am so sorry I missed all of your questions, I had a graduate Friday and she was the last of our babies to graduate and have been busy planning for her special day! Yes, it was that fast! Highmark was great, I had made my deduction the year and did not have to pay anything out of pocket except for a few small and I mean very small bills! Yes, after the lapband, I gained most of my weight back I was at 298 before being banded and at 289.9 the day of surgery for the RNY!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
