More gassy and down at night...anyone else?

Recommended Posts

I was banded on November 20th. I wake up every day feeling better than the day before, but nights seem to have been tough. For the past two nights I have gone to bed feeling very bloated and very down. Has anyone else experienced this? I have read the board about how most people have gone through the bloated gassy stage. I have also read the board that a lot of people have gone through the OMG what have I done stage. I am just wondering if anyone has had the experience where both things peak at night time? Any thoughts why?

It is 7:30 AM right now and I am not looking forward to the evening.

Remember how Mom always said things would look better in the morning? I think she was right ! There is a natural tendency to slip into fear late at night...I'm encouraged to hear that you are feeling better everyday. I'm not banded yet, so I appreiate you sharing your experience.

Good luck!

After the stresses of the day later in the evening tends to be the emotional *Bad* part of the day. Your tired from being up moving around, dealing with people/kids/work whatever. Ever notice when you have a cold or flu that you usually feel best in the mornings? It's totally normal the late part of the day is also when many emotional eaters have the most *bad eating* times also.

I've also been told by my kids pediatrition that body temperature also tends to be a tiny bit higher at night.

Same as weight can be higher from Water gain and your also shorter at night cause of the compression gravity has on your spine.

Years ago I was treated for a case of exhaustion and one of the things my doc recomended to me was to make the hours after dinner and before bedtime more *Stress free* to avoid doing strenious things like major chores, billpaying etc in the evenings if at all possible. started giving my son his baths in the mornings instead of nights. Really helped with the major mood swings for me at least and stopped my need to toss n turn in bed for a hour fighting to get sleep.< /p>

I hear you....I am more gassy at night and much more aware of the noise and bubbles moving around...I think because I am not as distracted when I go the bed and have more time to think....and feel the discomfort...I also was banded on 11/20 and often think as to what have I done....I try to tell myself that I did my homework and that I need to trust in the knowledge I have gathered about this option...I am sure that we....the newbies will find our comfort in our weightloss, and as time goes on... life with a band becomes routine. Keep in touch...

Hi,

I was banded 10/29/07, so I'm less than 4 weeks out. Last week I dident lose any thing and was major depressed. This week I lost 6.5 lbs and it mainly due to my keeping a very accurate food journal. I also seem to get gas trapped and feel bloated. Tha "Gax-X" dissolvable strips work great for this!!

Its normal to feel "OH Lord What Have I Done??" But it passes also!!

Good Luck to you and hang in!!

C/C

Yes, I feel great in the morning, but the gas pains in my shoulder seem to come back at night. Plus, I get tired, really fast! I guess because I'm not eating the same calories that I'm used to.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
