Getting a Little Bit Closer

Recommended Posts

I haven’t been on in a while, because I’ve been so busy lately. I hope to catch up today and gain some more inspiration here! I have been doing really good sticking to my personal goal of watching my calories and walking more prior to my surgery consultation to make sure I’m as committed now without the surgery to maintain this lifestyle afterwards. I’ve lost 21 pounds total since August. I’m back in the 200’s, which was my first big goal to get to on my own. I’ve been going to the monthly WLS meetings, met with my primary care Dr twice now. She faxed her approval to the dr for my surgery. She’s very supportive and pleased with the results I’ve had prior to surgery. She thinks this choice of bypass is going to be a great thing for me on my journey to becoming healthier. I have my sleep study consultation scheduled for next month. After my next WLS meeting next month my nutritionist will set up everything with the surgeon for our first meeting... it’s becoming more real now! It helps that my life has been go, go, go... no real time to fret over the 6 month insurance required wait. I also adopted Lola, my 1st puppy ever as an adult, and she has 100% helped keep me active and motivated to keep moving. I feel good and positive about what lays ahead! I hope you all have been doing well, can’t wait to see what everyone has been up to! 💚

That cute face will definitely help keep you motivated to move, congrats! Aren't puppies fun?! All but the potty training. What breed is Lola and how big will she get? She's beautiful.

Sounds like you've been doing wonderfully on the go. I'm hoping to do the same as my work gears up for the recruiting season. All the best to you!

She’s a Double Doodle, her dad was around 60 pounds and her mom was around 50 pounds, so I’m curious where she’ll end up at. She’s been doing really good with the potty training, thankfully I have all wood floors if she does have an accident. It has been 2wks now and I can pretty much tell when she has to go, but every once in a while when it gets hectic around here I miss the cue. She’s definitely a ball of energy that keeps me on my toes, dr approved bahahaha! 😅 Thank you for the well wishes, I hope you have lots of success as you’re gearing up for a busy season! Take care!

2 of the Biggest NSV thus far in my life; 1) my 6yr old daughter can wrap her arms around me for the first time ever! 2) My 12yr old son is having a basketball game for the parents vs. their players and I am playing with him! Its been awhile since I played basketball so I have been practicing lol but I would never had even volunteered to do this 70lbs ago!

It has hit me today, as I sit in my chair at work that I don't have my belly sticking out to where it would hit the desk. Oh and I can cross my legs more comfortably. It amazes me just how much I have loss in inches vs actual pounds, I have lost 24 lbs all together. But I believe in inches all over about 3 inches. I am noticing more energy and have pep to my step. My skin is a lot clearer. My watch band is shorter by 3 notches. the little things are what I am noticing. When I bend over I don't feel out of breath or I am going to fall over ( weeble wobble).
I am having a hard time with my sweet tooth, it is very hard to not want to get some ice cream or chocolate. Candy I can do without. I have no craving really for that, just chocolate and ice cream. I have gone as far as taking Popsicle and putting them in my mixer with almond milk and making like ice cream with that/ sometimes I have added un-flavored protein powder.
I feel better everyday. The energy is great to have with having younger kids and being able to have the energy to keep up. 😃

If anyone has any advice on how to make your stomach feel better after you eat something you shouldn't have or at too fast, I would GREATLY appreciate it!! It's painful on both sides of my abdomen (like to the point I'm doubled over and using a hot water bottle in addition to medicine) and I'm really nauseous (the thought or smell of food is 🤢).
