December Surgery dates???

Recommended Posts

I'm supposed to start my pre-op diet on 12/4, but after eating way too much on Thanksgiving, I couldn't take it anymore, and started the pre-op on Black Friday. I figure a few extra days of pre-op won't hurt, and maybe I can drop some extra weight too!

My pre-op is 3 Protein Shakes and a light dinner. We can substitute a lean cuisine for a traditional dinner, which I did last night!

December 10th. I have to 2 weeks pre op diet and on day 4th. Feeling hangry.

Couldn’t believe it took 2 weeks for me to have 1 occasion to be hungry. Although, the tuna is approved, I had really wanted to be chew free for the 3 weeks. Not sure why, good news tuna usually make me indigestion but it didn’t yesterday. Think my stomach said be glad you got it now shut up.

Good for you, wishing you all the best, with your Black Friday early run for the prize.

I also cheated with half of my daughter’s grilled cheese :(

Cheated too and then called a wise friend who has been through this too and she said Do you really think you’re the only one to cheat? Put it into prospective. Lol

I am December 2 at Kaiser Northern California. I thought I would have to go on a liquid diet but Kaiser doesn’t require that - they let you eat up to 8 hours prior to surgery! They said it is easier for the body to heal after surgery. Definitely thankful.

Makes sense to me. This has been like training for a fight. I would never starve myself before a fight . :)

Which Dr and which office? I'm scheduled with Dr Hahn. I haven't had my pre-op appt yet (it's in a couple weeks) but my surgeon let me know he would likely put me on a liquid diet... Hoping that's not the case but planning for it.

I'm scheduled for Dec 31st RNY in Kaiser Fremont (Nor Cal). Anyone else on the 31st?

@loridee11 - I’m at the South Sacramento location. I don’t think any of the Kaiser’s prescribe a liquid diet before surgery.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
