Was supposed to have my surgery 3 days from now on Monday 8/12/19. Found out this morning that my TSH thyroid levels are 4.5 so my insurance is asking for additional info & follow up from my PCP. At 1st I was upset but now I feel a little relieved. My pre-op hasn’t been going as restrictive as I’d like & I can do better. Might as well be as healthy going into this as possible. Rescheduled 1 week for 8/19/19

I'm sorry for the postponement. ((hugs)) But yay on getting this taken care of now!!! Get on your new meds it may help with hunger/insulin resistance and energy to help you really apply yourself on the pre-op liquid phase.

It's always best to have everything in the best shape when you undergo surgery, so be glad your doctor cares enough to make sure your levels are appropriate before putting you under. Good luck.

So sorry it was postponed Chiptress , but you know, it was probably meant to be , and you’ll feel happier that you’ve got more time to do the ore-op , and you don’t have to worry that you could have done better .Mine was postponed because it was too hot to operate safely and I was really disappointed, but then I was pleased they were being cautious . Shows I’m in good hand . Mine is on12 th of August now. I wish you all the very best for the 19th. I’ll be thinking of you !

I’m so sorry your were postponed. I know the feeling. My surgery was originally for the 19th. The next available date would have been sometime in September. But I ended up getting in on cancelled appointment on the 7th. I’m on the bench now. They don’t have scales here in the room. But I feel lighter already. But that be from the non-stop nausea. I’m still in the hospital until the throwing up stops.

I'm glad you are feeling some relief with this .... although would guess it's mixed emotions after the build up and now wait. Hope everything goes well now so you can have your surgery on the new date planned :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
