Did anybody have any muscle pain and muscle fatigue after 5,6 days of having surgery that they did not have before.

hmmm...I didn't have any muscle soreness in my appendages...if it's through your shoulders and shoulder blades and even chest, it could be the trapped gas...which walking seems to help. If that's not the case, you may want to contact your surgeon and make sure nothing else is going on. keep us posted

Are you getting enough Calcium? Or possibly lack of other Vitamins? Are you taking a Multi-Vitamin and additional calcium?

My back is achy, but I think that's from holding my tummy differently with the muscles to keep the port from feeling like it's pulling.

Yes I had terrible leg cramps. It's dehyration. You have to make sure you get plenty of Water, could also be low potassium, but mine got better when I started drinking more water. The first week after surgery it was hard to even drink water, so sip, sip, sip all you can

I'd say the first time you go into things like shakes, make shakes with a banana blended in. You could have a potassium deficiency. That can cause muscle cramps in the extremeities.

Hi there!

Congratulations on getting banded! I felt like I had been hit by a Mack truck after surgery. The anesthesia made my whole body ache. I could barely pull myself up off of the couch (in retrospect, it was really quite humorous)! After the first week or so, I started to feel more like my old, bouncy self.

Hang in there!!! I hope you are up and about real soon!

I am 6 days out and my back muscles and leg muscles are really sore today. I agree with the previous post that the back is due to the change in my posture. Trying to keep everything straight and not pulling. I also had to change the position I sleep in a bit and I think that has something to do with it. I am hoping so.

Make sure you are getting plenty of fluids----dehydration can cause the issues mentioned. Also consider some Liquid Protein for the fatigue. It made all the difference in the world for me. I used Zero Carb Isopure from GNC. Taste was not something I would likely have chosen among other drinks---but---it helped SOOOOO much, I just took it like medicine, and did it!

Good Luck, hope you feel better soon!

Kat

I had my surgery on 6/16. Thank goodness for all the posts out here on muscle pain. I was starting to freak out. Now I see I am not the only one who feels they were hit by a Mac truck. Every muscle in my body hurts. I am getting plenty of fluids and moving around. But at first, getting up and moving is like I just gave birth to a baby. Every muscle hurts and the pain meds really help. I will update as I get better, but day 3 is still pretty painful. I do not have any abdominal pain, that's the strangest part.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
