Three Months Post-Op

Recommended Posts

And I'm down 65 lbs. I'm finally below 300 lbs, and I couldn't be happier. I haven't been this weight in ten years. Hell, I haven't even been close to it since 2012. I know I'm going to continue the weight loss too.

My highest weight was 427 lbs. April 2018. My weight on surgery day was 360.8. I weighed myself yesterday morning and was 295.2.

And do you have a firm goal to head to? My highest was 365+. my Surgery weight was 319, and 10 months later I have. broken the 200 pound barrier and am 198- 199. That's a place I never could be without WLS.

Ideally, I'd like to reach 175 myself. I'm 5'10"- 5'11"-ish. Realistically, I'd be happy with under 215.

Oops. I’m hoping you made a typo and you weighted 295.2 yesterday morning!

It's really weird because I had been 298.2 on Friday morning, but then I was 295.8 on Saturday, and 295.2 yesterday, and now 296.2. Jagged little weight graph.

Your weight lost total is stellar. Nice work Ellf! Do you have go to meals most days?

I'm trying to find my groove still and I've hit a rut. Granted I haven't weighed myself in 3 weeks or so, but I know that I'm stalling a bit due to how things fit. I purposely haven't been weighing myself so I won't become obsessive about it.

Also, what's your workout regiment like?

Nice Job!

ps. almost forgot we have the same surgery date, so I'm curious because of that and where we are at the same time.

My only two go-to meals are three light mini Babybel cheeses for Breakfast (50 cal each, 6 g Protein each), and Wendy's chili (which I can now eat a full small chili... for 21 grams of protein and 210 cal).

The rest I kind of play by ear. My workout consists mostly of me just walking around the office during the daytime and getting lots to drink. I should probably swim more, and am planning on getting some swimming in this week.

Thanks for the response, I love those Babybel cheeses. Before my surgery I used to buy the 12 pack and eat them all in one sitting. Those were my kryptonite for sure.

Mine is Cheetos White Cheddar Puffs, Chester Cheetos and Frito- Lay did a very very bad thing inventing those. Had a bag rolled up, secured with a big, think they are called File Bands, rubber band hidden next to my chair until Tomkitten found them , bawled me out, said maybe he would have to eat them himself to save ME. Yeah, eat a couple bags, you'll be 40 or above BMI and you'll get frog 🐸marched to my Bariatric Clinic in Columbus. Besides he was sniff sniff💦 coming between me and my Kryptonite!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
