Is this normal? 2 Days Post Op

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Yesterday I got my surgery and was in the hospital all day yesterday and most of today. I just got home today. I've been burping but they seem to get getting stuck and not forming a full burp. I'm also so tired all the time, maybe it's because I didn't sleep the day before my surgery and the day of my surgery I was woken every 2 hours to walk. I drank 7 oz of Water and 1 oz of pedialite, had half an oz of cottage cheese, 1 1/2 oz lowfat yogurt and I'm sipping my Premier Protein throughout the day. I am so full but I know I need to try to get liquids in. Is this good for now? I plan on eating an egg later. I'm so scared life will never go back to normal.

the first few weeks can be tough - but you WILL get through this. Life does get back to normal after awhile. My eating habits can never be the same as they were pre-surgery (I now eat fewer calories, smaller portions, less fat & bad carbs, more protein), but I don't really feel any different than I did before (other than 200 lbs lighter, of course...).

Honestly, for the first week or so if it's weird or kinda hurts, it's normal. You will absolutely be back to normal, and honestly, it's going to happen much sooner than it feels like right now! The first few days/week are about doing what you can. Remember that your goals are goals... you will have to work your way up there, and that's ok!

I'm surprised you're eating foods so soon after surgery but every Dr. has different rules. Try to make liquids your priority over the food at this stage. Staying hydrated is so important.

I had my surgery done a little over a month ago and the first 10 days were hell. It gets better. Focus on Water over everything else right now.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
